Purpose and Scope

Responsible for Compactor maintenance from maintenance, repair till refurbishment works. You will work closely with the workshop team to ensure all key task maintenance is handled in a timely and professional manner.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Point of contact to receive breakdown activations from Ops/CRM and to ensure all breakdowns are delegated and attended to by technicians with duly filled service report forms submitted daily.
• Assist to plan and ensure scheduled preventive maintenance of SembWaste compactors on a pre-determined cycle & servicing of customer-owned compactors under contract.
• Ensure all repairs conducted in workshop are properly done and checked before QC checks by Manager prior to deployment.
• Coordinate with Operations Department to haul compactors back to workshop for major repairs/washing/preventive maintenance and to ensure appropriate serviceable spares are available.
• Provide on-site training & advice on the handling & operation of compactor to users.
• Responsible for department’s material store and hydraulic oil inventory and to ensure optimal stock levels at all times for in-house and on-site usage.
• Assist in and to supervise site works in bin centres contracted to SembWaste.
• Ensure zero accident occurrences in workshop/on-site and all company HSE guidelines are adhered to.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

• Minimum Nitec in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical/Mechatronics

• Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge and able to do design change on the system
• With valid Class 3 driving license

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience as Building Technician or in similar capacity;
• Possess technical knowledge of general building systems;
• Familiar with building maintenance practices and safety procedures, would be preferred;
• Is organized and have good interpersonal skills;
• Is pro-active, independent, able to work with minimal supervision and perform under pressure.

• Holds overall responsibility for the operations department including the administration functions of the department to ensure the operations activities run smoothly and efficiently
• Responsible for the management and development of the operations team, including performance management, training compensation and resourcing matters
• Leads and manages the day to day operations
• Translates company's strategic plans into defined operational plans
• Defines Key Performance Indicators to monitor operational success against objectives
• Key interface with clients for the operations team and ensures clients requirements are met in a timely manner

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
2. At least 5 years of proven experience in the cleaning industry, facility management or building maintenance with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity
3. Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
4. Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written) and client interfacing skills
6. Strong problem-solving skills and driven to achieve results
