Koch-Glitsch, a Koch Engineered Solutions Business, is seeking a dynamic Process & Sales Engineer to join our team in Singapore. This role focuses on projects across South-East Asia, North Asia, China, and Oceania, and is part of our Phase Separation team, dealing with mist elimination and liquid-liquid separation. We are looking for a technically adept and commercially savvy engineer with 2-4 years of experience. The position offers a balanced mix of technical (70%) and commercial (30%) responsibilities, providing a comprehensive and rewarding career opportunity.

Our Team

As a Process Engineering and Proposal Development Specialist, you will support projects across the APAC region and collaborate closely with country managers to drive aftermarket sales in Southeast Asia. This role is supervised by the APAC Product Leader based in Singapore; and involves collaboration with country managers across Asia.

What You Will Do

Process Engineering & Proposal Development (70% of role)

• Craft technical and commercial solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Analyze customer material requisitions and specifications.
• Select and pre-design equipment, performing hydraulic calculations/simulations.
• Estimate costs and develop quotations.
• Engage in technical clarifications, including negotiations and meetings with customers.
• Update and revise quotations as necessary.
• Write technical agreements for contracts, particularly for the China market。

Commercial Activities (30% of role)

• Partner with country managers to enhance sales and market presence for phase separation products in Southeast Asia.
• Oversee aftermarket opportunities for customers in South-East Asia.
• Collaborate with country managers to grow the aftermarket business.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Customer focus and ability to build relationships with customers.
• University degree in a related field (preferably chemical engineering or similar), and 2-4 years of work experience.
• A creative and out-of-the-box thinking mind, essential when working on retrofit projects.
• Organization skills and ability for multitasking in a fast-paced work environment.
• Maturity, pragmatism, self-sufficiency, and high team spirit are essential qualities to succeed in this fast moving, dynamic environment.
• Prepared to travel within the APAC region (up to 25%).
• Experience with basic CAD modeling (AutoCAD or Inventor).
• Proficient in Mandarin to better serve our Mandarin-speaking customers.

• Capabilities on cost definition development.

What We’re Looking For

• Has a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in technical customer support (voice and email), with a strong customer interaction experience.

What the role is

Infrastructure Planning and Design Department 1 (IPDD1) plans for and carries out the detailed engineering design and development of infrastructure projects for the collection of general waste and disposal/use of waste treatment residues, and the remediation and redevelopment of closed landfills.

You will be part of the Waste Residues Treatment Branch of IPDD1, in charge of planning, managing and implementing infrastructure projects to treat waste residues and will also be involved in other projects handled by the Department. You will be required to work closely with various stakeholders in the government & private sectors.

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

• Plan, manage and co-ordinate projects to dispose/use waste residues such as incineration ashes and non-incinerable waste
• Plan, request and manage funding for waste infrastructure projects
• Manage and supervise the construction of waste treatment infrastructure to process waste residues
• Explore innovative technologies to convert waste residues into useful products for use as e.g. reclamation fill materials
• Work with other project teams in the Department on redevelopment of old landfills and other waste residue projects
• Liaise and work with other Departments and Divisions on solid waste management projects
• Carry out cost benefit analysis for the projects.
