What is a Data Engineer?

The role of a data engineer can be defined as someone who has the knowledge and skills to design and build systems for collecting, storing and analyzing data at scale.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the project team to develop and validate the data engineering applications
• Drive the maintenance of data engineering pipelines
• Implement data engineering pipelines as per business needs and technical specifications provided by stakeholders and work closely with the data engineering team to ETL the required data from source systems into datastore
• Develop ETL jobs i.e. workflow packages, auto schedulers, in Informatica PowerCenter as per specifications and requirements
• Monitor and ensure ETL jobs are successfully executed and handle troubleshooting of any related technical problems on-site

Skills Required:

A successful data engineer needs to have a combination of technical as well leadership skills. A background in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management can serve as a solid foundation to build your career as a data engineer.

• 1 to 2 years of ETL experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL scripting skills
• Proven experience in Informatica PowerCenter in a similar capacity
• Prior experience with ETL operations using at least one other ETL software such as SSIS, Informatica and/or Talend is a major advantage
• Knowledge of creating ETL packages and configuring workflows
• Knowledge of at least one database tool such as MySQL, MS SQL and/or PostgreSQL
• Adept at queries with good communication and stakeholder management skill

Responsibilities:

• Assist and support Manager (Projects) in the following:

o Liaison with consultants, contractors, authorities to support delivery of the project.

o Identify, track and pursue opportunities to design, de-risk programme, manage budget and project quality.

o Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions & variation orders, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

o Conduct regular project review meetings with Consultants and contractors both on and off site and report to Management on a regular basis.

o Advise and maintain standards for monitoring design and construction programme, cost control and project information systems to ensure successful project delivery

o Prepare fortnightly/monthly reports to provide accurate information to the Management on the project including relevant financial and cash-flow reports.

o Develop and implement a robust and complete handover system from construction to operational phases.

o Ensure the proper and complete handover of the completed works to the Facilities Management Team

• Any task which may be assigned from time to time

Requirements :

• Possesses a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related disciplines, accompanied by 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in Data Centre Project
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and a team player with a good interpersonal skill.
• Relevant experience in the M&E design and Consultancy firm an advantage.
• Well versed in local codes of practice and standards an advantage.

• Engagement with Storage System Engineers to create Networking space around all Storage products we sell, to create new selling space for DC Networking will be desired. (E.g. Powerflex with Dell Switches)
• Deliver Network pre-sales presentations, demo and PoC to customers and partners as needed. Evangelize new age DC Network transformation story, around SONiC.

Essential Requirements

• Expertise and technology understanding for Data Center Networking, GEN AI Networking, Routing, SDWAN and Security solutions is a must,
• Knowledge and experience creating access control lists (ACLs) on routers and switches; recent experience using the CLI on major router and switch vendors, hands on implementation experience will be a big positive.
• Understanding and Designing and Architecting solutions for Key Industry Trends – Micro-Segmentation, Network Automation, Multi-Site Datacenters, Network Visibility, Multi-Tenant / Network Virtualization, and L4-7 Service Insertion – is a significant part of this role; ability to demonstrate a knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)
• Working experience with VLANs and IP subnetting & experience using routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
• Around 15 years of Networking experience as a service network eng involved in designing/trouble shooting network or as a pre-sales Systems/Sales Engineer and Technical certifications like VCP, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCP, JNCIA is most desired.

Desirable Requirements

• Competitive knowledge of equivalent products and commercial positioning, DC market knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Experience on SDN, Network automation though Perl/Python/Ansible Scripting and also experience in building network fabric based on BGP-EVPN, VXLAN will be an added advantage.
