Introduction

We are looking for a committed team player responsible for the coordination and development of science communication activities of the FRS and FHT programmes. You will work closely with the FRS and FHT Management team, as well as with researchers from SEC, ETH Zurich, and local partner institutions in Singapore.

Your responsibilities will include the following tasks (list not exhaustive):

Developing Science Communication Strategies

· Create comprehensive communication strategies for FRS and FHT aligned with the programme’s goals and objectives.

Media Relations

About the Role

The Social Media Content Creator Intern is a dynamic and creative team member responsible for developing and producing engaging content across various social media platforms. This role involves creating visually appealing and compelling content to drive brand awareness, engagement, and growth.

Primary Duties

1.Crafting Content

• Create captivating content for social media channels, encompassing visuals such as images, graphics, videos, and written materials.
• Generate inventive ideas that align with the brand's identity and messaging.
• Deeply comprehend the brand, its values, and target audience to produce copy that resonates with followers. Adjust writing style to match the brand's voice and maintain consistency across all communication channels.

2.Visual Content Production

• Produce and edit compelling video content, spanning short-form clips to longer pieces suitable for diverse social media platforms.

3.Calendar Management for Content

• Collaborate with the content creation team to synchronize copywriting with the overall content calendar, marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives.

The Centre for Digital Enablement (CoDE) drives initiatives within SIT. It works with various stakeholders, both internal and external, in upskilling digital literacy across the organization through literacy programmes and digital innovation projects in relation to the Digital Learning Spaces (DLS).

The Assistant Manager will be part of the curriculum team responsible for the development and delivery of digital literacy programmes to students and academic staff as part of the institutional drive towards digitalization. He/ She may also participate in and manage student projects which includes mentoring and facilitating student learning during the project.

Key Responsibilities

E‐Learning Development

• Design and develop e‐learning content aimed at effective knowledge transfer and retention.
• Manage project requirements, stakeholders, and supervise student developers and/or manage vendors to ensure the timely delivery of content and resources.
• Administer the e‐learning assets and assist on the setting up of course sites in the Learning Management System (LMS).

Collateral Design & Publicity

• Design and create collaterals or materials for CoDE’s programmes and initiatives.
• Design and create compelling publicity materials, including eDMs, to promote CoDE’s events and initiatives.
• Design and create CoDE’s newsletter and administer CoDE’s SharePoint site to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

Events Coordination

• Plan and manage various events hosted by CoDE, such as talks, workshops, and hackathons.

Job Requirements

• A diploma or degree in learning/instructional design, multimedia design, educational technology, or a related field.
• Preferably 2 or more years of relevant working experience in learning/instructional design, multimedia design in an education setting, or similar.
• Proven experience in designing and developing e‐learning content, preferably in a corporate training or educational setting, and managing e‐learning projects from conception to completion, including stakeholder engagement and project coordination.
• Proficient in e‐learning authoring software, such as Articulate Storyline360, iSpring, or similar.
• Proficient in multimedia production software such as Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) for creating engaging visual and interactive content.

Background:

The Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance (APLMA), is an alliance of Heads of Government committed to eliminate malaria and other communicable diseases in Asia Pacific, with a focus on the most vulnerable communities.

Through committed leadership and a specific investment in effective tools designed to defeat malaria for good, countries in the Asia Pacific region have halved the number of malaria cases and deaths in less than 15 years. This fight against malaria in Asia Pacific has been positive but is far from over. If we are to see a true eradication of malaria in the region, a revitalised commitment from all stakeholders, and especially national governments is needed.

Role:

The Communications Manager plays an integral role in bringing APLMA’s mission and vision further to life. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, you’ll provide strategic communications leadership and set our communications strategy to increase visibility and raise awareness of the organization, engage target audiences to catalyze action and ensure malaria elimination remains a priority and visible in Asia and the Pacific.

Working closely in collaboration with colleagues across the organization and partners, you will lead all communications needs and issues and drive communications best practice across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Direct, lead and oversee core areas of communications that support the communications strategy: corporate, media relations, digital, and communications materials (e.g., messaging documents, press releases, blog posts, statements, social media posts, articles, infographics etc);
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership to execute communications strategic objectives which maintain visibility of the malaria elimination agenda and raises awareness of our work;
• Collaborate with internal programmatic staff and country focal points to develop and frame the region's messaging for target stakeholders and audiences;
• Work with strategic global partners where appropriate to strengthen the Asia Pacific and APLMA’s position as part of a global network;
• Lead/drive proactive media relations and story-telling campaigns, as relevant and appropriate to raise awareness of APLMA's mission and impact across the Asia Pacific region;
• Provide oversight on communications issues, coordinate with relevant internal departments as they position APLMA, and execute communications campaigns and agendas in a regionally and nationally relevant manner;

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; preferably in communications, journalism, public relations or related discipline.

• Minimum of 7 years of communications experience; healthcare and international development background a plus;
• International experience or prior work in a global organization.
