Key Responsibilities

· Manage and coordinate mooring and navigation studies

· Carry out the ship navigation simulation setups

· Work with Marster Mariner to coordinate and deliver all navigation related works

· Work with the Master Mariner to interpret navigation simulation results, assess Marine Risk and write reports

· Use GIS and AutoCAD to do simulation setups

· Use MIKE by DHI suite of software for numerical modelling

· Assist the Project Manager (technical and financial) of ongoing major marine and coastal engineering/modelling studies.

· Manage the client and deliver maritime study reports

· Deliver Navigation and Mooring proposals

· Performs QA within own field of expertise

· Maintains project schedule and reports project status

· Support regular client (external or internal) contact

· Carry out coastal and modelling studies, provide technical inputs and lead projects and manage clients

Education and Experience

· Understand Port Environment, various types of berthing and mooring

· Graduate degree in civil, maritime or coastal engineering or a relevant discipline

· Experience with assessing navigation safety for ports and channels

· Experience with Marine Risk Assessments

· Experience with mooring simulations

· Experience with navigation simulations

· Experience with data processing using programming language like Matlab, Python, R etc

· Experience with the MIKE by DHI suite of numerical models will be considered favorably

· Project management and proposal writing skills

· Excellent report writing skills

· Candidates with 3 to 5 years experience undertaking marine studies, and/or coastal engineering and/or numerical modelling studies are preferred

Description

Under general supervision, manages multiple internal projects involving a single discipline or department.

Drives various components of project planning and execution on multiple projects such as completion of multiple detailed project specifications.

Leads project activities across functional groups. Ensures that project deliverables are properly completed and directly impacts cost containment, efficiency or profitability of operations.

Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior team members.

Requirement

Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities:

• Apply functional specifications and use engineering tools to design hardware for product changes and new development
• Assist in analysis, modification and design of products and services for assigned projects which requires basic knowledge of materials, components, and their applications
• Assist and participate in testing and test results analysis for assigned projects

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
• Basic skillset should be to design various tools & equipment with latest industry/design codes and analysis
• Knowledge on CAD packages like SolidWorks are preferred

Job Summary:

To assist the Manager to oversee and manage the Engineering Department function including technical review on new project orders, engineering documents management, international standards and/or project specifications review for product compliances, while leading the department’s improvement programs and/or process efficiency initiatives. Maintaining and updating the department’s Standard Operating Procedures and liaising with customers to resolve aftersales technical issues or technical clarifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Technical review on new project orders and order assignments to technical engineer & drafter team.

- Ensure timely submission of engineering documents i.e. Control Schematic Drawing, General Assembly Drawing, Wiring Diagram, Nameplate Drawing, Test Procedure, Data Sheet etc.

- To review all project engineering documents prepared by technical engineer & drafter team before submitting them to client.

- Manage engineering change function and ensure engineering documents are updated accordingly.

- Provide advice and guidance to technical engineer & drafter team for any technical queries and to support other ops team on various aspects of technical/engineering matters.

- To check and make recommendations based on common industrial engineering practice, where necessary.

- To provide and implement cost effective and best engineering solutions for project to stay competitive.

- To provide sound engineering practice and engineering calculation where applicable in a timely manner to meet project timeline.

- To review international standards and/or project specifications for product compliance. i.e. ISO 12490 / API 6DX / IOGP S-707 / SHELL DEP standards or other industrial standards related to Valve Automation and/or instrumentation.

- Providing field support for customers to resolve after-sales technical issues or technical clarifications.

- To attend internal/external kick off Meeting (KOM) when required.

- Travel with technicians to installation base and sites if the need arises.

- To assist manager to lead the department’s improvement programs and/or process efficiency initiatives.

- To assist manager in maintaining and updating the department's Standard Operating Procedures.

- To carry out Engineering personnel annual performance review to ensure competency and give counselling when required.

- Performs additional related duties as requested or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Support new employee orientation by providing brief engineering department process flow training.

b) Support and guide the Operations department in resolving aftermarket technical issues such as Product Design changes / Fault Finding / Supplier Discrepancies.

c) Support development and upkeep of staff technical competence (Training). Your responsibilities include the design, development of instructor guides, plan (Long-term & short-term) training (Liaison with HR), schedule and conduct training with the staff.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical/Instrumentation or equivalent

- Minimum 6 to 8 years supervisory experience in Valve Automation and/or instrumentation background, preferably in the Valves & Actuators field for Oil & Gas Market.

- Conversant with ISO 12490 / API 6DX / IOGP S-707 / SHELL DEP standards or other industrial standards related to Valve Automation and/or instrumentation.

- Possess a strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.

- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D or drafting software & SAP will be an added advantage.

- Familiar and possess intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365

- Very self-driven and able to drive the team. Possess strong interpersonal skills and can work as a team.

- A strong verbal and written communication skills
