What is the role?

Yinson GreenTech is looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our marine division (“marinEV”) to develop exciting solutions for electric harbour craft and charging infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a proactive work attitude with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a wide range of complex and time sensitive tasks. In this position, you will provide project execution and technical support to drive the growth of new business opportunities. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in emerging technologies related to marine electrification, battery, propulsion, power electronics and smart grid design.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the technical development of electrical, instrument and control system design for different harbour craft applications.
• Evaluate different ways to optimise power demand to make the electrification of seafaring vessels attractive for widespread adoption.
• Work with OEMs to carry out technical evaluations of marine products and solutions for adoption.
• Provide technical support on matters related to electrical discipline engineering such as power distribution system, energy storage, Power and Battery Management System (PMS / BMS), charging infrastructure etc.
• Operational data collection and developing tools for data analytics on usage, optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Ability to use tools to propose optimized energy management solutions to be used in the tools for data analysis.
• Collaborate with Institute of Higher Learning and Research Institute in Singapore on the development of cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing practices.
• Work with engineering contractors and OEMs to develop optimal solution within the project’s schedule and budget constraints.
• Support the project team with the review and preparation of electrical, instrument and control deliverables (schematics, datasheets, calculation, drawings etc).
• Proactively manage the interfaces of the project to ensure relevant inputs are received timely for incorporation into the design. This involves good coordination with the team internally as well as Client, Class and vendors externally.
• Assist troubleshooting during construction, mechanical completion and commissioning phase of the project.
• Support the operations team with technical advice, troubleshooting and optimization of the company’s fleet of vessels.
• Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging technology, improvements and absorbing new practices from the market.
• Other tasks as required.

Requirements

• Diploma in a technical subject.
• Good use of MS Office.
• Good use of AutoCad software.
• Know-how in electrical engineering and system design.

Service Engineer (Turbocharger)

Job Function

Service Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the overhaul of turbochargers and their components with a high degree of quality expectations and ensuring that the company is represented professionally, ethically, with high code of conduct, to achieve the financial and commercial targets of the company.

Specific Responsibilities

The following responsibilities indicate some of the key elements of this role, but should not be considered as a complete definition, as there will be tasks that are requested, that are deemed to be reasonably expected as part of this role:-

- Assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and turbocharger components and all associated processes, in accordance with turbocharger makers working instructions and quality standards.

- Skilled in the use of metric and imperial measuring tools, such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.

- Cleaning turbocharger and turbocharger components to turbocharger makers’ standards using wet and dry cleaning processes, ensuring the integrity of the components material and dimension.

- Knowledge and skill of operating of rotating machinery, such as balancing machines, lathes, drills, boring machines correctly and in a safe manner, working with close tolerances.

- Ability to read and understand instruction books and drawings written in English and to communicate efficiently and effectively in a professional manner, both verbal or written.

- Basic knowledge of turbocharger and engine principles, product range and repair techniques with ability to troubleshoot and provide information for investigation reports.

- Receiving turbochargers and components into the service group and evaluating/reporting on the repairs that need to be completed and/or spare parts that need to be ordered.

- Maintains controls of all special and hand tooling, slings, lifting and safety equipment to ensure that they are in good order.

- Ensures that the workshop machines are clean and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions with records of inspections and work performed

- Ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of the workshop, thereby creating an efficient and customer focused work environment in the shop and on jobsites.

- Maintain continuous training of all new product and processes, best practices and product service all in accordance with working instructions and company regulations to maintain a high quality of service engineering group.

- Reviews and evaluates shop and service working practices, suggest and implement corrective actions where necessary to improve the efficiency of the service performance level.

Requirements :

Education And Experience

- ITE, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- 3 years of mechanical experience, as mechanic in diesel or rotating machinery preferred.

- knowledge of close tolerances, blueprint readings and metric measurements.

- Ability to write technical reports.

- Ability to communicate with customers and professionally represents company.

- Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in AGILE project running on SCRUM sprints and daily stand-ups.
• Responsible for design, coding, testing and documentation.
• Able to liaise with the customer in requirement gathering, acceptance testing and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience with systems implementation and software development lifecycle processes.
