Summary

BPS Associate Accountant fulfils an integral transactional and reporting function in Deloitte’s Business Process Solutions (“BPS”). This role touches all aspects of finance function including GST compliance, documentation of process improvements and other special projects as needed. This position will report to the BPS Senior / BPS Manager.

Job Purpose:

Provide support on recording accounting transactions, and generating timely financial reports including the GST reporting process. Prepare online bank payments and provide cash flow projections to our clients by coordinating with relevant contacts and maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts. Provide support to the BPS Manager, the other members of the BPS accounting team and the client.

Responsibilities may include:

• Obtain and file accounting related documents on a timely manner and highlight any improvements to the data collection process as necessary

• Key in data in the accounting system and maintain the general ledger accounts for clients

• Preparing monthly accruals, prepayment and other manual journal entries and reconciling accounts monthly

• Accounts receivable – assisting with daily/weekly/monthly invoicing

• Payment processing and monitoring payables

• Be Seconded to client offices to assist in assisting the accounting process, when necessary

• Compile and provide financial or transactional information or data as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a comparable professional qualification with 1 year or more experience in a similar accounting related role

• Self-starter, organized, attention to detail, deadline oriented, hands-on.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on several projects.

• Some experience with ERP systems in the past – Xero/ MS Navision / SAP is a plus.

• Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal pressures.

• Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• MS Office experience required including extensive Excel knowledge.

Summary

Senior Accountant fulfils an integral transactional and reporting function in Deloitte’s Business Process Solutions (“BPS”) team. This role encompasses all aspects of accounting from Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory recording, Cash Management, Fixed assets, Monthly Account Reconciliations, Credit Analysis, Payroll and other special projects as needed. This position will report to the BPS Manager / Partner.

Job Purpose:

Provide support for the daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions. Provide financial reports to our clients by maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts. Provide support to the BPS Manager, other members of the BPS accounting team and allocated clients.

Responsibilities may include:

· Maintain the general ledger accounts by monitoring journal entries, preparing monthly accruals, prepayments and other manual entries and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis

· Year-end statutory financial statements preparation

· Accounts receivable – assist with the invoicing process and monitor collections

· Payment processing – setting up online bank payments and seeking approvals

· Assist with outsourcing or technology related special projects giving insightful analysis when needed.

· Assist in the year-end consolidation process of clients

· Assist in the provision of information and transactions as necessary and liaise with auditors and tax agents.

· Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or professional qualification with 2 years or more experience in a similar accounting role

· Self-starter, organized, attention to detail, deadline oriented, hands-on.

· Ability to lead a team of junior professionals in a fast-paced team environment on several projects.

· Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, MS Navision, Xero and other accounting systems.

· Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal pressures.

· Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
