The Systems Engineer, Unix/Linux is responsible for managing and supporting Unix/Linux infrastructure in a 24x7 enterprise environment. This includes operational support, troubleshooting, deployment of updates, and maintaining service continuity to meet business requirements and service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Unix/Linux Infrastructure Support: Manage and support Unix-based IT infrastructure, ensuring stable operations across Unix, Linux, Solaris, Redhat, AIX, and SUSE environments.
2. Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Provide expertise in diagnosing and resolving server and application issues, delivering root cause analysis as required.
3. Package Deployment: Deploy Unix/Linux packages and bug fixes across Test, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
4. Operational Administration: Oversee day-to-day operations for Unix/Linux environments, adhering to business needs and service level agreements (SLAs).
5. Change Management: Follow established change management protocols for infrastructure changes, including status reporting to relevant stakeholders.
6. First and Second-Level Support: Provide 1st and 2nd level operational support, including initial troubleshooting of third-party applications and collaboration with vendors for resolution.
7. Audit & Compliance: Participate in audit activities, respond to audit findings, and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience managing Unix/Linux environments (Solaris, Redhat, AIX, SUSE) in an enterprise-level setting.
  • Strong experience in RedHat Clustering and Oracle Solaris Clustering.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and tools, such as Perl, Ruby, and AWK.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy) is an asset.
• Work Environment: Typically 9 am to 6 pm, with flexibility required for after-hours work due to the 24x7 nature of the role (e.g., patching activities).

Responsibilities:

• Prepares the schedule and oversee the T&I activities as per project specifications and procedures.
• Manages the subordinates’ staff in the day-to-day activities and that project goals are met as per budget.
• Coordinates with several departments related to T&I of project.
• Supervises the performance of his team and should respond to the issues during T&I.
• Attends the Project meetings and update the status.
