What this job involves:
In a Nutshell
First things first, your chief concern is to ensure a safe, compliant and more conducive work environment for our JLL teams on the ground, the client and the vendors and contractors under JLL’s purview. You will work as JLL Engineering’s second line of defence through a process of audit, training and enablement. Part of the checklist(s) you will run through are focused on ensuring just that. You will need to stay up to date to all key relevant internal and external requirements as it pertains to HSSE and Engineering. These include but are not limited to ISO 45001, 14001, 55001, 41001, country regulations and JLL minimum standard requirements as it pertains to HSSE and Engineering.
In addition, you will advise key account leaders and Engineering and HSSE leaders of each site / account on ascertaining and aligning the level of risk at sites and guiding them to form a relevant and up to date risk register as part of technical diligence representing corporate headquarters. The individual in this role will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence and innovation, and will effectively use JLL’s established assurance programs to assess risk management and quality improvement opportunities of engineering service delivery. You will need to be comfortable with solid and matrixed line reporting structures, have a keen ability to influence others and be comfortable driving for action with multiple stakeholders. This is a dynamic and highly results oriented role.

You will be supported fully by communities of expertise spanning the HSSE and Engineering disciplines.
In this role youfunction as a subject matter expert resource with keen technical skills and program management, relevant technical knowledge and executive presence to advice senior management. It is a requirement for you to be conversant with mechanical / civil / electrical diagrams, engineering operations and maintenance procedures and processes, safe systems of work and relevant work experience to ascertain and report on ground conditions and risk. It is highly advantageous for you to be well versed in problem solving tools. This is a fast paced role with tangible benefits and visible success indicators that requires you to optimize the talents of the varied stakeholders involved with an exciting career roadmap for the right individual. A seasoned manager, you will use the appropriate communication skills to ensure the right message is received across stakeholders of varying levels and there is no communication gap. In line with the regional nature of the role, travel is expected. Percentage of travel is highly subject to change as it is depends on the risk profile at any given time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide an annual top 20 high risk sites for in – person validation and risk reduction
Provide direct inputs to ERM risk strategy for the region inclusive of executive summaries, data analysis and presentations to country and regional leadership to shape the risk profile of the individual countries.
Feed the above into the overall quality driven ERM strategy of risk mitigation
Develop HSSE and Engineering strategies and policies (as needed) to drive risk reduction
Align with senior leaders on risk categorization and profiling
Ensure escalation and rectification of key legal risks to the appropriate senior leadership
Drive awareness and adoption of the above through the Operations Council under the direction of the regional GHO
Monitor trends and legal changes to ensure that JLL provides industry best practice in the delivery of Engineering and HSSE services
Be well versed with JLL’s globally aligned audit program
Serve as an ambassador and validator of the above program as it pertains to HSSE and Engineering
Perform in – person on site audits in accordance to JLL minimum standards and local legislation focusing on whichever is stricter
Train and validate new auditors to the system to ensure consistency in audit standards and risk profiles
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including account leaders, Quality and other stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of risk reduction initiatives
Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify skills gaps, and provide mentoring and training opportunities to enhance the team's capabilities.
Perform key adhoc engineering activities as may be required to support business operations
Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team and across the organization.

Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (preferred) or a related field.
Relevant certifications in Occupational Health and Safety
Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in engineering roles or HSSE roles with technical expertise with a proven track record of leadership and managing fast paced activities
Strong knowledge of problem principles, practices, and methodologies.
Experience in a managerial or leadership role, with the ability to lead and motivate a high-performing engineering team.
Solid understanding of project management processes and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive innovation, process improvement, and change management initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
Professional certifications, such as Professional Engineer (PE), SCEM, etc. highly desired
