Job Summary
Transaction and Treasury Management Services (TTS), Trade and Working Capital (TWC) and Small Business Lending (SBL) are key pillars of SME Banking at Standard Chartered Bank. The SME Strategic Engagement Lead will be supporting the execution and delivery of all communication and engagement activities across SME Banking, partnering WRB Marketing and other WRB stakeholders globally.
The incumbent will be responsible for driving and managing frontline engagement and communications activities globally around key strategic initiatives, diversity and inclusion and people agenda.
The aim is to improve understanding of the SME Banking strategy, support the One WRB identity and alignment across the organisation through clear and impactful content in various formats and channels.
This SME Banking group role position requires someone who has multi cash product and trade knowledge, commercialization experience and execution track record for this quick pace business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Business, Processes
- Collaborate with business and other internal stakeholders to manage, communicate and launch global strategic initiatives and ensure timely execution of project timelines and milestones
- When needed, collaborate with external vendors to ensure strategic initiatives are rolled out in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism and quality execution
- Ensure flawless execution of complex communication projects across various markets and product lines
- Support the commercialisation of products and change delivery initiatives in partnership with the product teams through effective communications including proactive development of communications plans, creative material, content, distribution lists management, audience identification and targeting
- Internal communication channel management, including CRMx / Seismic pages, distribution lists, product reference contents, training materials, newsletters, intranet, townhalls and dedicated people topical sessions etc
- Collaborate closely with WRB Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Brand and Marketing to ensure alignment with the broader WRB wide communications and marketing plans
- Prepare briefing packs, key messages and narrative statements for business communications and engagements
- Support external communications activities, including social media posts development, thought leadership articles, press release production and interviews
- Co-produce collaterals, videos, infographics, scripts, visual and written communication material and relevant communications templates
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure consistency of communication activities and messaging across the Business, Technology and Operations
Measurement and Feedback
- Monitor and report engagement for various internal and external activities levels according to success metrics of project and communications plans
- Define and implement tools and procedures together with WRB Marketing to measure effectiveness of communication efforts and identify ways to improve results as and where needed
- Track communication adoption and interaction by leveraging analytics and anecdotal frontline feedback.
- In partnership with respective partners, proactively manage surveys for constant feedback

• Ensure there is due diligence on vendor capabilities and service records when evaluating vendors

• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
• Adhere to financial governance, supply chain management and procurement guidelines for third party vendor sourcing arrangements.

Our Ideal Candidate
- Undergraduate degree
- 8+ years experience or more in Cash Product Management or related business; regional exposure
- Multi cash product and preferably with trade and related platforms knowledge and commercialization experience
- Ideally 6+ years’ experience in an Internal or external Communications role in Banking ideally SME Banking and/or Corporate and Investment Banking or Business-to-Business industries
- Ability to challenge and influence direction of communications and engagement strategy
- Knowledge of internal communications digital and traditional channels and best practice, ideally at a global level
- Knowledge of Project Management and Change Management
- Understanding of organisational barriers to effective communication in large, complex organisations with a global scale
- Knowledge of frontline roles, frontline effectiveness drivers, change management in relation to frontline and client operational risks and technology innovation
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of a diverse, global organisation
- Exceptional collaboration skills, strong team player
- Strong emphasis on self-reliance, confidence and commitment to delivering for clients, stakeholders and the team
- Effective and creative communications skills to inform and engage a global audience
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to write for an online audience and familiar with using social collaboration platforms
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with excellent time management skills
- Languages: Written and spoken Mandarin would be an advantage as the incumbent will be supporting the Chinese region market
