1 Management
1.1 To actively help in the continuous upgrading of care standards.
1.2 Provide leadership and effective management of the Nursing Department.
1.3 Supervise and ensure that care staff provide and meet expected care standards and customer servicing.
1.4 Do discharge planning.
1.5 Oversee the multi-disciplinary team consisting of Registered Nurses, Healthcare Attendants, physiotherapy aides, Rehab Assistants and Care Staff.
1.6 Ensure service quality standards and cost-effective services are maintained and enhanced.
1.7 Responsible for the compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by Ministry of Health, Singapore Nursing Board and Agency for Integrated Care.
1.1 Prepare staff duty roster, leaves administration etc.
1.2 Draw up short and long-term plans (e.g. annual and 5-yearly plans) to accommodate trends in residential nursing care.
1.3 Coordinates with the other departments to ensure smooth delivery of service.
2 Patient Care
2.1 Analyze trends and changing needs of the residents in institutional settings. Plans nursing care based on changing trends.
2.2 Operationalize and monitor the smooth transition of the residents from acute to step-down care.
2.3 Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
2.4 Oversee the administration of treatment prescribed for residents.
2.5 Plans and conduct therapeutic programs for patients.
2.6 Conduct or make arrangements for health education, counselling for residents and their family members.
2.7 Ensure that care staff deliver expected standard of care.
3 Training and Professional Development
3.1 Teach, mentor and supervise nursing staff in their clinical practice
3.2 Plan, coordinate and provide clinical guidance and supervision to nursing staff
3.3 Conduct regular clinical training and competency assessment for nursing staff to ensure clinical compliance
3.4 Perform clinical nursing audits and suggest interventions for, initiate and participate in clinical quality improvement in care delivery outcome
3.5 Participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives
3.6 Participate in continuing education programs.
3.7 Develop training materials and lesson curriculum when required
3.8 Assist in collating of training data and evaluating training effectiveness
3.9 Assist Nursing colleagues to ensure smooth operations of Nursing Home
3.10 Keep pace with professional trends and practice
3.11 Participate actively in medical products evaluation.
3.12 Participate in nursing research, where required.
4 Others
4.1 Any other duties assigned by Supervisors
4.2 To back up Nurse Manager / Nurse Educator / Nurse Clinician during their absence
4.3 Must be IT savvy and able to use Mircrosoft Office.
