• Summarize the lessons learned from new construction projects and improve processes for future projects.
• Streamline the work process, revise procurement SOP（Standard of the Process）, establish communication methods with counterparts such as Sales/Service team and MHI HQ, organize shared folders and data.
• Source local vendors mainly in Singapore and Malaysia, gather, organize, and share vendor information according to headquarters' needs related to local procurement.
• Strengthen collaboration with the MHIAP Procurement Department, such as sharing vendor information and best practices, promoting the use of Coupa to reduce the cost for indirect procurement, and organizing regular meetings.
• Understand the procurement process and organization of each regional entity, identify common challenges and areas for improvement, consider the role of regional HQ such as setting up opportunities for sharing best practices and information within the region.

Job Requirement

• Minimum 8 years of Procurement experience in power plants or industrial plants
• Master Degree of Business Administration (MBA) , Economics, or Engineering
• Experience of working in Sales/Engineering of industrial plants equipment
• Experience to manage and lead a team which is responsible to strictly keep the deadline and budget in addition to put a high priority on the quality
• Adept with Indonesia import & export control, project taxation

Purpose and Scope

This position will lead the procurement team in driving the formulation of SembWaste’s procurement strategies to effectively manage the processes. You will hold a key role in establishing and overseeing the procurement activities, managing stakeholder relationships, contract negotiation. Key responsibilities will also include the adherence to compliance and risk management standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and oversees the procurement team to achieve departmental objectives and professional and career growth of staff.
• Undertake key strategies through strategic sourcing plan and robust contract management to achieve cost savings through effective negotiation.
• Facilitate effective communication between procurement team, internal stakeholders and vendors, to ensure smooth procurement operations.
• Review and evaluate areas of opportunity and drive cost efficiencies through deep understanding of market dynamics, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement.
• Establish trusted business partner relationships, to provide optimised business results including supply assurance, cost, quality, service, innovation & sustainability.
• Direct negotiations of contract terms and conditions with vendors to meet organisation’s procurement requirements and quality assurance standards.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks through effective risk management strategies.
• Drive corporate governance measures, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legal requirements, company policies, and ethical standards.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

• Degree in Procurement/ Purchasing/ Business/ Supply Chain Management/ Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in procurement field.
• Proven ability to lead, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing/ engineering/ chemical/ processing plants sector.
• Action and solution oriented including sourcing selection and negotiation with vendors, contracting best practices, costs and spendings analysis, supplier relationship management.
• Collaborative mindset, with an excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively interact with team, vendors, stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in using procurement systems.
