Position Overview:

As a Sr. Staff signal integrity engineer, you will be working on challenging SI and PI tasks in globally distributed teams. You will be supporting SI/PI signoff of chip design, package design and PCB design in order to support successful delivery of products of various product lines to market. You will be working with design, test, P&R and application teams globally for modeling of chip high speed I/O and power rails. You will be supporting customers in signing off hardware design or resolving SI/PI issues where system design has constraints. You will also be involved in defining specifications of product electrical performance. You may also be involved in modeling and simulation of EMC issues.

Responsibilities:

Primary (70%):

1. Responsible for SI/PI signoff of chip design, package design and PCB design.

2. Responsible for modeling high speed I/O and PDN.

3. Responsible for customer support for PCB design signoff and issue debug.

Secondary (30%):

1. Responsible for product electrical specifications related to high speed I/O.

2. Responsible for modeling and simulation of EMC issues.

Requirements:

Experience/Skills:

1. 10+ year working experience in SI/PI

2. Deep understanding in electromagnetic theory, transmission line theory and microwave theory

3. Familiar with SI/PI design flow, time domain and frequency domain modeling and simulation

4. Good comprehension of PLL, equalization, CDR, jitter, noise, IBIS modeling, 8b10b encoding

5. Hands on with lab equipment including high speed oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and network analyzer

6. Skilled with SI/PI simulation tools from ANSYS, Cadence, Keysight and others.

7. Skilled in data processing with script in Python, Matlab or other language.

8. Experience in MIPI D-PHY, C-PHY and PAM-4 is a plus.

9. Good communication skills and team work.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers for design requirements and specifications.
• Assist in Analog, mixed-signal, and digital IC design.
• Participate in RTL coding and verification for digital ICs.
• Support design verification tasks.
• Conduct circuit simulations and analysis using Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics tools.
• Assist layout engineers with floor planning.
• Analyze and debug silicon failures, suggesting design improvements.
• Contribute to the development of design methodologies to enhance efficiency.
• Document design work and test plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful tape-out.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalents.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Understanding the IC development flow in advanced CMOS processes, including design, layout, and tape-out.
• Understanding the fundamental theories of digital or analog circuit design.

Report to the Project Director / Manager in Charged of the WTW system.

• Provide technical expertise to oversee the design, development and construction of the WTW system.
• Interface with WTW system designer, vendors, fabricators including drawings reviews, sourcing equipment, cost control and monitoring, schedule monitoring and update.
• Oversee project implementation according to the requirements and objectives. This includes schedule monitoring, vendors sourcing and recommendation, purchase/ cost evaluation, resources allocation, attend to inquiries, clarifying technical details, supervising project execution, implementing corrective actions, conducting Factory Acceptance Tests, and finalizing as-built documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in deck machinery using technical manuals, hand tools, and power tools.

• Develop operating, maintenance and safety procedures for the WTW system.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Mechatronic or equivalent
• Min 5 years working experience in Marine Industry or shipyard environment.
• Good understanding of deck machinery such as winch, crane, lifting and handling equipment and the related IACS (particular ABS, DNV, BV) rules and regulations.
• Specific experience in WTW system (Offshore Passenger Transfer System) is highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulic and electrical system and P&ID with ability to perform trouble shooting.
