Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) established in September 2010 is a partnership between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. We are looking to recruit a research fellow with a strong background and interest in human disease genetics and/or neuroscience, with strong inclination for a career in academia or industry. This individual is expected to:

• Lead key projects in the laboratory involving in vitro modelling of human neurological diseases using human pluripotent stem cells.
• Perform experiments on cell culture, molecular cloning, gene editing, immunostaining, confocal microscopy etc
• Oversee statistical and bioinformatics analyses of genomics and transcriptomics data
• Work closely with research assistants/associates, students and collaborators to evaluate, troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols
• Maintain frequent contact and communication with collaborators
• Keep up to date with latest research in the field of genetics and neuroscience
• Participate actively in discussions, writing manuscripts and grant applications.

Our laboratory is based at Clinical Sciences Building in the LKCMedicine Novena campus.

Background and qualifications:

• A PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences (preferably related to the field of genetics, stem cell/developmental biology and/or neuroscience) from an internationally renowned university.
• Prior research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, single-cell genomics/transcriptomics, or statistics and bioinformatics
• Prior experience in CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, molecular cloning and stem cell research will be an advantage.
• Some knowledge in coding (perl, C/C++, java, python, R etc) will also be an advantage
• Self-motivated, independent and well-organized, with excellent technical and communication skills
• First-authored publications in reputable biomedical journals will be a major advantage.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

• O' Level with at least 2 years of working experience
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and Words
• Able to communicate in English and Mandarin to liaise with English / Chinese speaking associates
• Prefer staff who stay in Ang Mo Kio or East area
• Navision knowledge will be an added advantage
• Any other work assigned by supervisor

PC Literate, should be familiar with MS Office tools like Word,Excel, Outlook etc.,

Attend to customers’ requests and enquiries from both online and offline sales channels.

Able to handle English and Mandarin speaking customers/associates

Deliver packaging materials across Singapore

Requirements:

1. Class 3 license and experienced in driving
2. Forklift license is an added advantage
3. Clean driving record is a must
4. Should be comfortable with loading/unloading goods and handling heavy goods
5. 5 days work week (Mon-Fri 8.30am to 6pm)
6. Candidates with no driving license, but have forklift license will be considered for Warehouse Assistant position
7. Vehicle cannot drive back home
