Prof Mary Chan-Park and her team have recently won a highly competitive large grant on the design, synthesis and studies of the improved RNA delivery vehicles.

Prof Mary Chan-Park is currently the Centre Director of the Centre for RNA Delivery Therapeutics. She is also the current President Chair Professor of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (2024 onwards) and the 2019 Board of Trustees Chaired Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (2019-2024), both at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU Singapore). She also holds a joint appointment at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU. She is the Director of the Centre for Antimicrobial Bioengineering and the Director of the NTU Laboratory for RNA Delivery Therapeutics. She is a Fellow of the America Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.

The Research Fellow will take on a significant role to design and synthesize new lipids or polymers that are stimuli-responsive and suitable for nanoparticle delivery formulations. New alternative delivery vehicles for the promising RNA nanomedicine are urgently needed to replace the current ones to achieve great delivery efficacy with less side effects. We have shown that some polymeric or lipid nanoparticles are excellent candidates as delivery agents.

Nanyang Business School is seeking a full-time Research Associate to work with Professor Sharon Ng in the Division of Marketing. The candidate is expected to assist Prof Ng with on-going research projects, and to work on projects of their own interest. The Air Pollution and Health team's research of Prof. Steve Yim focuses on the interactions between climate and air quality, and the resultant impacts on public health and ecosystem. The team's ongoing research is to develop, advance and utilize the state-of-the-art multi-scale atmospheric models, along with measurement and statistical approaches, to understand the mechanisms that drive the climate-air quality interactions, and evaluate the impacts on human exposure, mosquito abundance and soil acidity.

Particular interests are in investigating air quality impacts of sectoral emissions and transboundary air pollution at multiple spatial scales, studying regional climate change due to land-use changes and global climate change, and evaluating and quantifying the effects of air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. The team also assesses and develops emission control scenarios to provide scientific-based policy solutions for a sustainable environment in present and future years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the association between interstitial lung diseases (ILD) and air pollutants in Southeast Asia
• Develop a prediction system to forecast air quality and the risk of ILD with group members
• Work on the data collection, processing, and analyses
• Help in the ground-level observations of air quality in Singapore using LiDARs. Document the results in reports
• Complete tasks that his/her supervisor assigns
