The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow with Asst. Prof. Eleanor Slade’s research group. This position is supported by a Tier III grant to establish a Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) at NTU. As part of this programme the Biodiversity Cluster will study the impacts of climate and land use change on the biodiversity, carbon sequestration and ecosystem functioning of the South East Asian region.

The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate.

The position is to conduct research in digital signal processing, in particular the detection and localization of active and passive targets via wireless RF signals in the harsh environment. We invite suitable candidate to join our strong research team as a Research Associate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research in digital signal processing, in particular the detection and localization of active and passive targets via wireless RF signals in the harsh environment.
• Conduct both theoretical development of methods and experiment design to validate the developed methods
• Co-supervise junior researchers/interns/students.
• Carry out detailed literature review and assessment of the state-of-the-art technologies.
• Plan and execute detailed R&D activities in order to meet project objectives and deadlines.
• Generate novel scientific or technological concepts for application of breakthrough nature and contributing to research proposals.
• Handle administrative matters which may include safety, asset management and other aspects related to being a member of Temasek Labs@NTU.

Job Requirements:

• Master degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or other related fields.
• Strong background and knowledge in modern RF communications / digital signal processing particularly in Radar or Array processing.
• Strong algorithm development and programming skills on MATLAB or Phyton.
• Knowledge on machine learning or deep learning.
• Familiarity with Ettus USRP devices, GNU Radio/Labview programming are plus factors.
• Good publication record.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Key Accountabilities:

• Undertake the assignments on one's own such as commissioning, installation, maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair/overhaul for MTU engines and associated product
• Capable of resolving technical matters and completing services according to the works order for acceptance by the customers.
• Conduct acceptance test of equipment and systems with customers or customer representatives.
• Carry out repair/adjustment if required.
• Provide service/investigation reports where applicable.
• Prepare and submit travel report on work progress as well as completion of project.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Automation Engineering.
• At least 2 – 3 years of experience in the diesel engine/generator industry.
• Experience in troubleshooting, project handling/execution, servicing and commissioning.
• Communicates effectively, has a strong initiative and ability to work under pressure.
• Possess logical and analytical skills
• Highly independent, and an excellent team player.
• Able to work in Jurong (Tukang)
