The A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*SRL) and Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS) aim to develop novel and efficient products and therapies to prevent age-related loss of skin function, treat skin conditions, and reduce the clinical burden of skin diseases. To facilitate the identification of new hits or tool compounds, the Asian Skin Biobank at SRIS has acquired different compound libraries (natural compounds, FDA-approved drugs, kinase inhibitors) and is looking for a motivated and skilled Scientist/Senior Scientist to set and lead the library screening platform. The Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) Programme aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. Job Description

The Memory Aging & Cognition Centre (MACC) is a Research Center within the National University Health System funded by the Singapore National Medical Research Council that focuses on the study of dementia and cognitive impairment in the elderly. The MACC currently has 4 research themes on biomarker discovery, neuroimaging, clinical assessment and epidemiology.

There is an opportunity for a qualified candidate with interests in Neuroimaging to join the MACC in a Research Fellow role to study the neural basis of cognition and associated vulnerability patterns in neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular diseases. There is access to a 3T MR, MR-PET and retinal imaging.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform academic research on neuroimaging (CT, MRI, PET and retinal) and its association with cognition and other clinical outcomes in MACC observational and clinical trial cohorts.
2. Provide supervision and training to research associates / research assistants / students.
3. Validate neuroimaging biomarkers in Singaporean and global populations.
4. Supervise and perform neuroimaging rating and analyses for observational studies, clinical trials, and collaborative projects.
5. Provide expertise to work with collaborators on the design and analyses of imaging studies.
6. Supervise and perform neuroimaging data entry, data quality, data storage / backup and data sharing services for the MACC and its collaborators.
7. Provide training for MACC staff and users (seminars, workshops, and tutorials) in neuroimaging.

Qualifications

The candidate must possess either:

1. a Basic Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, MD/PhD) and recognized postgraduate qualifications in Neurology or Radiology; OR
2. a PhD degree, which must include appropriate postgraduate training and experience in Neuroimaging.

The candidate must have a good record of research accomplishments in Neuroimaging –preferably but not exclusively in dementia or cognitive impairment. Purpose of the post

We invite applications for a highly motivated Research Assistant to work with the Principal Investigator and study team members to manage and conduct various research projects towards sustainable medicine, ensuring successful and timely completion of projects. This post has a specific focus on supporting the Centre’s research on understanding and quantifying the environmental impacts of healthcare products and clinical pathways.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Develop new models and methodologies to account for the environmental impacts of health systems. The individual will develop skills in data collection, carbon footprinting, cost-benefit analysis, life cycle analysis, monitoring and reporting, scenario development, forecasting, and policy appraisal.
• Assist in evaluating the environmental impact of healthcare products and clinical pathways using a range of approaches including carbon footprints and broader life cycle assessment.
• Assist in the data retrieval and critical appraisal of secondary data sources that evaluate the environmental impact of healthcare products and clinical pathways
• Engage in a variety of research-related activities including literature searches and reviewing, preparation of research materials, data collection, entry, analysis, and interpretation using in accordance with the highest research standards.
• Perform research operations and administration duties such as the preparation of grant, ethics review applications, manuscripts, reports, and other relevant documentation of study-related matters.
• Perform other administrative and basic project management support to the research projects, as assigned by the Director/Principal Investigator.
• Function as an effective, dynamic team player as part of the wider CoSM team.

Appointments will be made on a 12-month contract basis with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

The applicant must:
