The Role

Institute of Operations Research and Analytics (IORA) at National University of Singapore (NUS) offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Fellow to work on and manage analytics projects with our industry partners. The projects aim to develop new analytics tools utilizing unique datasets and research and experimental development on machine learning techniques.

Your project management and technical skills are the foundation of this role as you will be working within multidisciplinary and international project team of leading researchers. As an important and integral member of our research team, you will be managing some of our industry projects and working closely with faculty members, research scientists, and PhD students. Our researchers can mine terabytes of data, develop mathematical models and algorithms to derive new insights. Part of your job is to communicate complex data and algorithms into simple conclusions that will empower our industry partners to act based on the research insights. Your business knowledge, interpersonal/communication skills are therefore a requirement to thrive in a multi-functional leadership team.

We will work with multipleuse cases so that we can abstract across them and develop generalized, reusable infrastructure. We will workwith specific customers so we can build useful applications on top of that infrastructure.You will contribute to the design and development of open-source software written to serve those use cases.You will work as part of a team of research engineers, developers, and domain expertise and you will beexpected to actively participate in team meetings and text-based communications. You will be expected to beactive members of the applied research community, by validating and contributing to advances incomputational law.

You may be asked to conduct use-inspired research at the direction of the Principal Investigator. This includes

• reading academic papers, standards publications, and related material such as blog posts andpresentations;
• coming up to speed in fields which may be new to you, such as computational linguistics, mathematicallogic, programming language design, formal verification, and model-based architecture;
• reading (and updating/commenting, relevant) existing software documentation;
• creating presentations, video recordings, walkthroughs, etc. to document and explain research work done;
• writing (and presenting, if so decided by the PI) academic papers and materials for publication; and
• documenting in a sufficiently-detailed manner so as to share what you've learned.

You will be expected to participate in software development; this includes

• learning how to use third party tools, including editors, IDEs, databases, business process modelingsoftware, programming languages, and libraries;
• evaluating competing software systems for suitability;
• building infrastructure to enable application development
• managing yourself, and managing fellow team members;
• engaging in product, project, and program management as needed

The National University Health System Virtual Care Centre (NUHS VCC) is an initiative where trained personnel provides tele-triage to patients and/or their caregivers. JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

• Keep the sterile field intact and follow infection control protocols.
• Prepare, organize, and hand over surgical tools and supplies during procedures.
• Set up and check equipment and supplies before surgery.
• Help with instrument handling and communicate effectively with team members.
• Record relevant details and communicate with healthcare professionals and patient families.
• Help position and prepare the patient for surgery.

Job purpose:

The goal of Family Life Group is to nurture a family-friendly society by strengthening family resilience through all stages of life, and to support families to overcome early risks and challenges to family relationships. The successful candidate will be supporting the development of operational and engagement strategies for the Family Life Group under the Ops Planning and Transformation (OPT) division.

Job duties:

• Assist in developing and executing engagement strategy on new focal areas with cross-cutting priorities within Family Life Group
• Support in identifying and engaging key stakeholders and opinion leaders on new focal areas
• Develop engagement toolkits and levers to engage different stakeholders (e.g. religious organizations, Social Service Agencies, corporates)
• Develop stakeholder mapping/tiering to guide customized engagement efforts
• Basic Research Support: Assist in conducting desktop scans and basic research activities (e.g. create online survey form) to gather relevant information and insights for operational planning and transformation initiatives within the Family Life Group
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Using Microsoft or other tools to collect, analyze, and present data from basic research activities to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement
• Project Support: Ensure progress coordination, documentation and tracking of key research and transformation initiatives. Ensure alignment with project requirements and timeline
• Admin and Logistics Support: Prepare for meetings (e.g. assist in obtaining agenda materials), support collation of info/responses/inputs across teams, logistics support for workplan/engagement sessions (e.g. booking venues, coordinating refreshments, collating attendance/feedback, printing materials etc.)
• Documentation and Knowledge Management (KM): Contribute to the development and maintenance of KM within OPT. This includes developing and maintaining an organized archive of operational planning materials.

Requirements:

• Degree in any field
• At least 1 year of research support, project support and data management experience
• Experience in managing stakeholders

• Assist the Medical Director in the consultation room and procedures both in & outside the Centre.
• Assist in laser refractive procedures and other minor procedures.
• Maintain stocks & inventory of surgical consumables and upkeep of operating theatre and instrument sterility.

Requirements:

• Fully registered with Singapore Nursing Board
• At least 2 years of nursing experience in Ophthalmic/Surgical setting
