Glencore Singapore Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore International Plc. and engages in commodity trading. The Singapore office employs approximately 220 staff working from a single site.
We are looking for a Market Conduct Complicance Officer to join the team.
Glencore’s Market Conduct team is a rapidly developing part of the Compliance organization responsible for an effective framework which manages our risks related to market abuse, insider dealing, financial market regulation and exchange/ venue rule compliance.
This role will support the Singapore office in administering the market conduct programme and performing advisory and regulatory work. The role has a high degree of exposure to senior traders and management within all departments.
This role will form part of the Group Compliance team and will report to the Group Head of Market Conduct and Head of Market Regulation.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the management and administration of the Market Conduct programme for the Singapore office.
· Act as an advisory contact for Singapore traders including metals, coal, oil, gas and environmental. Advisory work includes the following:
- Application of Market Conduct Policy, Guidelines and Procedures
- Benchmark and Price Reporting Agency engagement
- Application of trading venue and exchange rules including block trades, position limits
- Communications compliance including analysis of potential inside & confidential information
- Suspicious activity
·Ensure strong documentation of the Market Conduct programme including maintaining documentation libraries and updating training records
·Administer onboarding and annual Market Conduct training
·Perform annual risk assessments in conjunction with the Surveillance and Monitoring team
·The role will dedicate approximately 50% of time towards support the Head of Market Regulation. This may include:
- Supporting in regulatory horizon scanning, impact assessments and other evaluation of the impact of regulatory change on Glencore’s business.
- Assessing implications of new business such as uncleared derivatives trading.
- Supporting licensing activities in specific jurisdictions, notably in Australia.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Up to University / degree level
· 5+ years of experience
· Strong understanding of the global commodities market and experience working in a trading organization
· Fluent in English (any additional languages beneficial)
