Job Description & Requirements
· Staff Supervision:Supervise, train, and mentor waitstaff.
Assign duties and responsibilities to waitstaff for each shift.
Monitor the performance of waitstaff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
Address any disciplinary or performance issues as they arise.
· Customer Service:Ensure that guests receive high-quality service.
Address customer complaints and concerns professionally and promptly.
Train waitstaff on proper customer service etiquette and standards.
· Scheduling:Create and manage work schedules for waitstaff, taking into account peak dining times and staff availability.
Ensure adequate coverage during busy periods and adjust staffing levels as needed.
· Inventory Management:Monitor and control inventory of dining supplies, such as tableware, linens, and condiments.
Place orders for replenishing supplies as needed.
Ensure that the restaurant is adequately stocked with necessary items.
· Quality Control:Ensure that food and beverages are served according to established standards and presentation guidelines.
Monitor food quality and presentation.
Conduct regular inspections of dining areas for cleanliness and organization.
· Safety and Compliance:Enforce health and safety regulations and food safety guidelines.
Ensure that waitstaff adhere to proper hygiene and safety practices.
Address any safety or compliance issues promptly.
· Communication:Maintain open and effective communication with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination between the front and back of the house.
Relay customer orders and special requests to the kitchen accurately.
Communicate with management regarding any operational issues or staff needs.
· Training and Development:Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for waitstaff.
Stay updated on industry trends and new service techniques to enhance the skills of the team.
· Financial Management:Assist in monitoring and controlling labor costs.
Track sales and revenue, and report to management.
Manage cash handling and ensure accurate billing.
· Team Leadership:Lead by example and set a positive tone for the waitstaff.
Foster a team-oriented work environment.
· Problem Solving:Handle unexpected situations, such as staff shortages, equipment malfunctions, or customer issues, with efficiency and professionalism.
· Administrative Tasks:Complete administrative tasks, including payroll, timekeeping, and record-keeping.
Prepare reports as required by management.
· Promotions and Upselling:Encourage waitstaff to promote special dishes and upsell items on the menu.
Participate in planning and executing promotions and events.
· Able to work weekend and public holiday.
