Compliance Assistant Manager (Banking)

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance of the operation at Singapore branch of a Japanese bank. You will reports directly to General Manager of the branch. There is chance for potential career progression within the bank.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform KYC/CDD works and AML checks considering priorities and efficiency.
• Review our branch's KYC/CDD procedures and AML/CFT manual, taking market practices into account.
• Maintain good relationship with the local authorities (mainly MAS) and the audit firms, obtain information on latest regulations, and share with related people in the organization.
• Draft policies and procedures manuals for relevant areas.
• Prepare reports for the local authorities and the Headquarters in time to meet the deadline.
• Regularly monitor the branch operations and make sure they comply with the rules and propose improvements
• Conduct compliance training sessions for branch staff regularly.
• Handle legal matters, consult with legal counsel if necessary.
• Facilitate smooth communication with other departments.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of Banking experience is required
• At least 2 years of Compliance experience is required
• High ability of collecting information and grasp latest low and MAS regulations as timely manner.
• Experience in compliance department in a bank or advisory experience for banks.
• Mandarin speaking language skill is required to liaise with Mandarin speaking counterparts

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant for ‘Versatile and scalable single-cell preimplantation genetic testing for chromosomal aneuploidy and segmental imbalances with/without concurrent Mendelian mutation detection using third-generation single-molecule sequencing’ in the Department of Paediatrics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Department of Paediatrics is committed to the advancement of paediatric scientific research in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region. The department's key research areas include cancer, genetics, immunology, metabolic diseases and cardiac health as well as studies on disease trends, health outcomes and neurocognitive development problems. The appointment will be made on a one year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant will be responsible for, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the study on time. The Research Assistant’s principal role will be to work in general practices such as wet-laboratory experiments, data collections and analysis, including related safety & health performances.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator to,

1. Oversee the general management of the project;
2. Undertake the day to day running of the project; Provide wet-laboratory and data analysis support to the project, e.g., development and troubleshooting of bioinformatics pipelines for application in next-generation sequencing data analysis, etc.;
3. Provide administrative research support, e.g., organizing meeting to maintain regular communication with members of the research team, safety & heath management of the research activities, etc.;
4. Conduct literature searches, e.g., using PubMed, for analysis and comparison of study results, as well as assisting in preparing both progress and final reports of the project;
5. Establishment and implementation of relevant safety & heath procedures related to study processes.
6. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
7. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. have a first degree with good results or holds a Bachelor degree in life sciences, biotechnology or related disciplines;
2. be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail;
3. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Excel, MS Words, MS PowerPoint);
4. have experiences in the molecular genetics’ areas of research, e.g., polymerase chain reaction, next-generation sequencing, etc.

Scope of Work

• Responsible for the operations, backup and maintenance of all IT Infrastructure and operations (Network, System, Application, Cloud Server, Cybersecurity) and ensuring the overall operation department’s strategic objectives and targets are achieved
• Design, implement, and project manage major IT projects including system procurement, development, and upgrades
• Identify opportunities and initiate improvement and updating of hardware, software and systems
• Provide and lead technical consultancy to various project teams to meet project objectives and requirements
• Manage external vendors to ensure technological systems continue to meet project requirements and security architecture are adhered to the industry best practices and guidelines
• Co-ordinate and execute implementation of infrastructure cybersecurity activities such as desktop and server security patches
• Co-ordinate and implement infrastructure standards and server technical requirements such as SOPs and relevant policy documentation with stakeholders
• Manage procurement requests for hardware, software, applications, cloud service and professional services as needed.
• Oversee inventory of IT assets (Including dependencies and attributes) and ensure that the teams in charge of the tools accurately record modifications, withdrawals, and replacement of existing ones. Responsible for managing the entire lifecycle and technical support of IT assets (hardware and software) from procurement to decommissioning
• Manage activities related to license compliance and other IT related audits such as asset sighting to verify IT assets to ensure that they are accounted for while licensing contracts are valid
• Apply a continuous improvement approach and recommendation in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending

Requirements

• A diploma/degree in Information Systems/Technology, ComputerScience, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
  
• 5 years of relevant working experience in an IT environment with a minimum 2 years in a team leadership role, is preferred
• Experience in supporting server and network environment
• Self-starter with analytical and strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

• Lead coordination activities with external System Wide Contractors and execute LTA and SMRT projects.
• Attend interface and coordination meetings with LTA, SMRT, and various System Wide Contractors.
• Oversee project-related site installation schedules and manage site subcontractors.
• Monitor and supervise all site activities and work progress.
• Prepare documentation, including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Project Schedules, and Work Procedures.
• Arrange weekly meetings with the internal Project Manager to discuss work schedules and plan resources.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Computer Engineering from a recognised local polytechnics.
• Relevant experience in site coordination for LTA/SMRT projects.
