Research by biologists, chemists and physicists in NSSE is centred on many areas of current cutting-edge science, both basic and applied. The NSSE invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor up to Associate Professor (with tenure) position in Physics. The position is available from January 2025 onwards.

Requirements

· A basic degree in Physics or Science and Engineering related subjects and a PhD in Physics

· Be able to teach undergraduate and postgraduate Physics courses in English

· Good track record of publication in top-tier, peer-reviewed international journals and/or highly cited publications

· Post-doctoral research experience and prior teaching experience at undergraduate/graduate level are desirable for Assistant Professor position and are must for Associate Professor position.

Additional points for consideration:

· Teaching qualifications, teaching experience in schools, familiarity with the Singapore education system and curriculum

Responsibilities

- They will also be expected to publish in top-tier, peer-reviewed international education journals and offer in service courses, consultancy and professional services to schools, the Ministry of Education, and other public education-related organizations upon request.

Successful candidates will be assigned a teaching and research mentor. The current areas of physics research are molecular physics, plasma physics, quantum physics, lasers and optics, nuclear physics, spintronics, materials science and physics education. However, candidates are encouraged to develop new research programs and courses in areas of their interest.
