The Asian School of the Environment (ASE, https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore seeks to appoint several Assistant Professors (tenure track) in tropical ecology. We broadly welcome applications across all areas of tropical ecology. This can include, but is not limited to, forest ecology, marine ecology, biodiversity research, conservation ecology, soil ecology, or plant or animal ecology.

Successful candidates should demonstrate the potential to build a world-class research programme and a commitment to education and mentorship of students, and to meaningfully contribute to our ambitions to have societal and environmental impact in Singapore and the surrounding region. They will teach within ASE at both undergraduate and at postgraduate levels. We are particularly interested in candidates who would be interested in teaching introductory-level ecology courses, including statistics.

Applicants must have a PhD in ecology, environmental biology, environmental science, geography, marine science, or in a related field, and show evidence of impactful, independent research in the field of ecology. Job Description

The incumbent will provide administrative and logistical support to the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) programme, in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -

• Assist the BES programme committee to draft curriculum papers and submit new course proposals to effect changes to the curriculum.
• Provide administrative and logistical support to course coordinators for ENV-coded modules
• Manage timetabling, course registration and examination matters
• Manage financial aspects of the BES programme, including the processing of invoices and request for payment forms.
• Facilitate admission processes for freshmen, including the polytechnic accreditation exercise, scheduling of aptitude-based admission and scholarship interviews, declaration of specialization for freshmen and facilitating the BES curriculum briefing at the beginning of every academic year.
• Plan and facilitate outreach events for prospective and current students, including NUS Open Day, Open House, Engagement Day and BES tea session.
• Provide support to BES student groups, including the BES student committee and BES Drongos.
• Provide support for BES student queries regarding enrolment and graduation requirements.
• Address any enquiries through the envhelp mailbox.
• Oversee updates to the BES website when required.

• Help organise any BES programme-related conferences or meetings.

• Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Programme Committee.

Clinic Assistant

Location: Clarke Quay
Working hours: 5.5 days, Mon to Fri 7:30am to 6pm, Sat 7:30am to 1pm
Salary: $2000 - $2200

Responsibilities:

• Ensure registration of new patients and collection of payments with accuracy and precision.
• Welcomes and greets all patients, agents, clients, or visitors in person or over the phone and responds to patients and visitor inquiries in a courteous & professional manner.
• Able to perform ECG on patients.
• Assist the Doctor with general consultations when necessary.
• Able to dispense medication/consumables independently.
• Administrative tasks such as patient registration and interview, maintaining accurate patient medical records, and scheduling of appointments.
• Manage operations matters such as prioritizing prepaid customers, and ensuring our valuable health screening customers are being taken care of well.
• Performing medical duties such as taking blood pressure, height, and weight, checking visual acuity, conducting pregnancy urine tests, filling up forms, and facilitating patient health declarations before getting them to sign off on those forms.
• Facilitates patient flow by working well with the medical team and having an in-depth understanding of every station within the operational flow.
• Sorting medical reports & responsible for keeping the stationed area clean and organized.
• Keeps medical office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs, notifying the General Manager if inventory supply runs low, and monitoring equipment such as the blood pressure machine/weighing scale, etc.
• Carry out efficiently and within the time given, the duties and responsibilities assigned to you, whether in writing or verbally, by the superior.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in any field.
• 2 years and above of working experience in a hospital / medical clinic.
