Application Support Engineer

- good banking application support experience with Linux, Windows, AIX, MQ, MSSQL, Maria DB, Jboss ,CD ,Tivoli. ISCD hardening, NVA

Tasks & responsibilities

• Send periodic reminders to clients on key matters using standard templates
• Serve as the main point of contact for client follow-ups
• Conduct research on for related information
• Identify and recommend further opportunities to expand client services
• Work closely with internal teams to offer additional support and solutions
• Maintain a tracking system to ensure timely follow-ups on outstanding tasks
• Handling office administrative duties and paperwork which includes data entry, copying, scanning & attending to e-mails, etc.
• Update and maintain proper filing systems and records
• Coordinate with colleagues to achieve department goals
• Other Ad hoc Duties assigned

Qualifications & experience

• Degree in Business Administration or Law. Other qualification will be considered
• Prior experience in relevant field will be an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Mandarin required to liaise with Mandarin speaking clients
• Positive working attitude, pro-active, good team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and paperwork
• Possess strong honesty, integrity and confidentiality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Able to work under pressure

• Responsibilities:

• To track and be responsible for providing optimum service levels for day-to-day production support for the Murex/MLC/Risk users (Front office, Back-office, Finance etc.).
• To collaborate with third party vendor/other support teams to provide a seamless support model for the business.
• Able to take ownership of high severity issues and follow through to closure.
• Answerable to business users and provide strategic long term solutions and participate in RCA and provide pre-emptive solutions for production stability.
• To assist in rolling out of new version of the application adhering to the best practices of the release management procedures.
• To be able to drive himself/herself to learn new things while dealing with daily production support
• To communicate effectively and work efficiently across different Business and support units

• Mandatory Skills Description:

• 5+ years of relevant working experience
• Knowledge in Murex application, Simulation, pre-trade debugging, simulation, e-trade pad, GOM,PNL, PLVA, SQL, Unix Shell scripting, Linux
• Strong knowledge on Murex front office Module
• Good understanding on GOM module, trade lifecycle
• Able to handle front office booking issues
• Strong debugging knowledge pre-trade rules and debugging
• Able to write SQL code
• Strong knowledge on MSL, access rights, portfolio tree, e-trade pad, Simulation
• Have to work on simulation / PNL mismatch issues
• Able to support murex functional module independently.

• Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Working knowledge of the credit trading landscape is a big plus.

Job Responsibilities:

· Support users through direct end user support or through projects that deliver changes to the end user environment

· Handle end-to-end Desktop refresh and replacement initiative and timely removal of Not Permitted Technology

· Handle user questions, incidents and requests. Tracking, measuring, and escalating as appropriate

· Assist with patching and upgrading end user devices

· Address quality and schedule conflict.

Job Requirements:

· At least 2 years’ experience in all phases of desktop operating system support, implementation, and maintenance, preferably in the financial sector

· Knowledge of desktop operating system and infrastructure required to implement and support enterprise deployments

· Knowledge of Desktop Services security and access standards and practices

· Basic understating of networking and server technologies

· Proficient in supporting a Windows 7 desktop environment & Microsoft suit of applications

· Good communication skills and strong analytical skills.
