The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to work on integrating geological and geophysical observations towards better understanding of the tectonic deformation and kinematics of the Southeast Asian Ring of Fire. The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow with Asst. Prof. Eleanor Slade’s research group. This position is supported by a Tier III grant to establish a Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) at NTU. As part of this programme the Biodiversity Cluster will study the impacts of climate and land use change on the biodiversity, carbon sequestration and ecosystem functioning of the South East Asian region.

The Research Fellow will be responsible for (i) organizing and conducting field work on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in urban, agricultural and forested environments within South East Asia, (ii) setting up experiments and measurements aimed at understanding how biodiversity and related ecosystem functions respond to climate change and land use impacts, and (iii) seeing this work through to publication in major research journals.
