We are looking for talented wet-lab Research Fellow to work with a multidisciplinary group of scientists on the discovery of new targets for therapy in Diabetic Nephropathy (DN), a devastating complication of diabetes causing significant morbidity, mortality and human suffering. In Singapore, the incidence of DN as a cause of end-stage kidney disease is among the highest in the world. The job will be part of the NMRC-funded project called Diabetes Study in Nephropathy and other Microvascular Complications II, and it will be based within the Centre for Computational Biology (CCB). Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a severe metabolic liver disease that can affect up to 6.5% of the adult population, with only one FDA-approved drug. Dr. Jin Zhou’s team is specialised in studying the novel molecular pathogenesis underlying MASH for the identification of new druggable targets. The lab uses a combination of biochemistry, genetics, animal modeling, and metabolomics approaches to understand cellular processes related to mitochondrial function and hepatic lipid metabolism.

Scope of Works:

1. Provide customer service at the reception counter to support staff, parents, students, and visitors, including answering phone calls and addressing inquiries.

3. Preparation of resources for the teaching of Science and Math Department (where applicable) and General Office.
4. Assist in any general and ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Admin Manager and School Leaders.

One Research Engineer position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Engineer (RE) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on visual navigation foundation model for mobile robots, exploration using reinforcement learning control, learning-based control, etc. The RE will develop and train algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous navigation in unseen environments. Hardware experiments will be carried out to test and demonstrate the applications of the developed algorithms.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The candidates should have a Master’s degree from a reputable university, with expertise in robot learning, reinforcement learning, and aerial robotics.
