Job Responsibilities

The Senior Research Coordinator is responsible for assisting Principal Investigators with the execution of a centre-wide cancer research study. The position involves coordinating and implementing study protocol, and managing daily operational tasks. Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Project Coordination:

- Coordinate the implementation of a centre-wide cancer research study aiming to recruit all cancer patients, ensuring adherence to study protocols, and regulatory requirements.

- Facilitate communication between the project team, supporting healthcare team, hospital administrators and other internal/external stakeholders.

Participant Management:

- Assist with screening, recruitment, and obtaining informed consent from study participants.

Ethics and Compliance:

Administrative and Operational Support:

Requirements:

We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant with a strong mathematical background who is interested to explore new research directions in neuro-symbolic methods, specifically on the interplay between deep learning and symbolic reasoning. The successful candidate can expect to help with the implementation of algebraic machine reasoning frameworks and will work closely with other team members.

The goal of this project is to develop a general neuro-symbolic reasoning framework for solving various reasoning tasks. The symbolic reasoning part of this framework shall be based on algebraic machine reasoning, a new reasoning paradigm built upon commutative algebra and computational algebra. The non-symbolic part of the framework shall primarily be based on deep learning, and could include vision models, language models, and multi-modal models.

Precision Radiation Oncology Programme (PROP). The scope of the projects conducted under the premise of PROP includes 1) early- and late-phase clinical trials; 2) cancer genomics and data science; and 3) translational cancer and radiation biology. • Patient screening and recruitment,

The Associate Research Coordinator (ARC) will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Department of Breast Surgery to support administration of the compliance, financial and various operational aspects of clinical studies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in all aspects of study operations for clinical studies.
• Take patient consent in clinic, as well as collect tissue and blood samples for clinical study,
• Manage grant coordination and submission and any other duties assigned by PI.
• Setup and maintain the clinical database.
• Collaborate with PI to prepare materials required for institutional review board (IRB).

Requirements:

• Diploma in life sciences or a related field.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy is a bonus (not required).
• 1 year of experience in research-related activities is preferred.
• Able to communicate with research participants.
• Fluent in English and another mother-tongue language
• Good time-management and organisational skills
• Meticulous, fast and accurate in your work.
• Proficient with Microsoft excel/word/powerpoint

The Division of Supportive and Palliative Care is conducting research projects to improve health services for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses. The projects aim to develop, evaluate and implement novel models of healthcare service delivery for palliative care.

The research coordinator will perform a variety of activities under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and/or their designate:

• Conduct literature reviews
• Screen and recruit patients/ research participants
• Conduct semi-structured interviews with patients/ research participants
• Attend to the administrative and logistic needs of research projects
• Assess patients for supportive and palliative care needs and manage any identified needs

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science related degree preferred.

Asian Thoracic Oncology Research Group (ATORG) is the coordinating platform for translational research for thoracic malignancies in Asia. Its mission is to advance medical knowledge of lung cancer and improve health outcomes of patients through clinical studies and scientific events.

Asia Pacific Oncology Drug Development Consortium (APODDC) was formed to foster education and collaboration between key stakeholders of cancer drug development within the Asia Pacific region, thereby improving treatment access to patients. APODDC drives regional activities in collaboration with institutions in the region and industry partners.

ATORG and APODDC operate centrally under the Clinical Trials and Epidemiological Sciences (CTE) division in National Cancer Centre Singapore.

The Senior / Executive will mainly organise events for ATORG and APODDC . The types of events include, but are not limited to, virtual, hybrid and in-person advisory board meetings, educational seminars and workshops. This role provides opportunities to interact internationally with healthcare institutions, industry partners and vendors, and manage key stakeholders at a regional level.

Main Responsibilities:

Organise events (80%)

• Responsible for managing events from startup to execution
• Communicate effectively and manage internal and external stakeholders and service providers
• Plan timeline for each event
• Draft budget, including sourcing of funding and reconciliation of funding and expenses
• Handle all logistics, inclusive of procurement (eg. venue, online/travel arrangements) and on-site management during event
• Develop marketing materials such as posters and collaterals and for social media
• Write meeting minutes, if required
• Administer pre- and post-event follow ups
• Manage agreements between key stakeholders, vendors and industry partners
• Manage manuscripts from drafting to publication.

ATORG Operations (10%)

• Manage operational duties of ATORG; this includes procurement of stationery and devices, collating of department information, updating of mailing list.
• Act as a liaison for department administrative matters

Other Duties (10%)

• Assist in any other work as assigned, which may include administrative tasks

Requirements:

• Degree, preferably in life sciences
• At least 2 years of events organisation experience, preferably in healthcare/ scientific research, candidates with more experience will be considered for the Senior Executive Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments involving mice handling, cell culture, and various techniques such as PCR, Western Blot, Luminex, and flow cytometry.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Handle mice for experiments, including breeding, genotyping, and administering treatments
