Job Description

The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include development, implementation and monitoring of meal plans, educating participants as needed, collecting dietary data, and performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate closely with the research team, food service team, and other relevant stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The staff will hold a few key responsibilities, including

(1) Intervention study coordinator:

• Recruit and interview study participants for the intervention study
• Implement methods for collecting dietary data, including detailed food intake records and compliance monitoring.
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate participants' nutritional status and document any deviations from prescribed diets.

(2) Nutritional Intervention study monitoring:

• Monitor food/nutrient composition for meals developed for intervention study
• Collaborate with the research team to integrate nutritional components into the study design and ensure alignment with research objectives.
• Liaise and coordinate with the Food Service team, providing diet requirements, and assisting in menu and recipe development and analysis as required

Main Duties and Responsibilities

(3) Participant Education and Counseling:

• Provide individualized nutrition education to study participants
• Communicate complex nutritional information and address participants’ questions and concerns about their prescribed meal plans.
• Foster participant compliance by offering ongoing support and guidance, emphasizing the importance of dietary adherence to the research trial.

(4) Administration and Leadership:

Qualifications

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow position in the characterization of adaptive immunity against emerging highly pathogenic viruses, within the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Programme (ID TRP) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The ID TRP is a 17-member programme comprising both basic scientists and clinician-scientists, enabling seamless translation of research. Other active areas of research include phage biology, pneumococcal infections, and microbiome studies. Purpose of the post

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong passion for emerging viral diseases, who is eager to contribute to advancing our understanding of infectious disease threats in this region and to help strengthen preparations for future pandemics. Project Overview

We are hiring research engineers interested in advancing the state of the art in data-efficient machine learning at SMART in the new program: Mens, Manus and Machina: How AI empowers people and the city in Singapore (M3S).

With the recent emergence of large language models (LLMs), the research engineers will assist in investigating how data-efficient and resource-efficient techniques, such as data attribution, data selection/reweighting, data valuation, data curation, Bayesian optimization, active learning, can be applied in the context of LLMs (as well as important issues involving AI privacy, model auditability and updatability).

The Research Assistant will work closely with the IHDP’s Biobank Team. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices of biosample transporting, processing, storage, data entry and other tasks as assigned by Reporting Officer,

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant/Research Associate will:

1. Process a wide range of biosamples that includes but not limited to blood and stool.
2. Provide and maintain accurate laboratory record and data
3. Adhere to all laboratory safety and procedures in accordance with the laboratory SOPs.
4. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with SOPs
5. Perform laboratory housekeeping as assigned
6. Must be work at 3 sites as rostered
7. Must be able to work on weekends
8. Perform other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. have a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, Life science or related discipline.
2. Must have laboratory experience and competent in pipetting
3. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
4. Able to work independently and in a collaborative manner with interdisciplinary team
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills
6. Strong desire to learn continuously

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
