A Research fellow position is available in Dr. Anand Andiappan Laboratory at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN). The successful candidate will support the research work that focuses on studying allergenomics and immunogenicity in the context of human health. The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding allergenicity and immune responses. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interdisciplinary research is necessary to address many of the key issues of our times. Unfortunately, there are significant barriers to interdisciplinary collaboration. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Asst. Prof. Patrick Rebentrost in the intersection of quantum algorithms and optimization, machine learning and/or finance. Sample topics include quantum algorithms for problems in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, algorithmic learning theory, and online learning, and quantum algorithms for financial problems such as portfolio optimization, pricing of financial derivatives, and hedging. The job will include the development of quantum algorithms in these areas, with provable quantum advantages and provable guarantees, when possible, in fault-tolerant models of quantum computation. The job will also include the development of algorithms that are easier to execute on available hardware such as variational and post-variational methods and quantum approximate optimization. Furthermore, the aim is to provide hardware implementations on available devices, comparisons between available hardware providers, and classical simulations of the quantum algorithms. For this purpose, the successful applicant will be granted significant independence concerning their research and receive generous travel funding. They will be expected to contribute to the group, for example by co-supervising student projects and assisting with outreach activities.

You will be assisting the creative team with

• Prepare samples for outgoing production sensory QA and submit sensory report (for specific products)
• Prepare and send samples for external lab or customer testing
• Perform lab testing e.g. pH, density (for specific products)
• Support lab testing operations and maintain laboratory equipment
• Weighing, mixing of ingredients for sample preparation
• Perform other tasks, roles or projects by superiors assigned from time to time
• Maintain lab housekeeping cleanliness standards, observe safety requirement and Good Laboratory Practices
