About the role

The Asia-Pacific Trading Desk consists of a multitude of different, mainly interlinked, trading desks including Power, Fuels, Steel and Petrochemical Complex teams in Singapore, as well as trading teams situated in China, Japan and Indonesia looking after domestic products in the respective countries.

The role will sit in the Power Complex team based in Singapore. We are a growing team diversifying across Asia Pacific power and carbon markets.

The main focus of the work will be on Japan and Australia power, but there is the option to explore related energy products or new markets within the region.

• Develop fundamental analysis and models to support Japan power trading activities.
• Ultimately, you will connect insights from analysis to drive commercial impact via contributions to trading strategies.
• Maintain the infrastructure, flow and visualisations of Australia and Japan cost stack models (currently PLEXOS).
• Share insights of cost stack model with traders and wider stakeholders within the business.

Job requirements and experience

• Motivated individual, able to work independently in a fast paced trading environment.
• Background in numerical discipline including but not limited to Engineering, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics
• Experience working with data platforms and large datasets. Good knowledge of and experience using SQL and Python.
• Experience with analysis development, from data sourcing, structuring your analysis approach, to delivering visualisation or modelling results.
• Able to express your views and findings on the market to the trading team in a concise and timely manner.

13. Lead and manage the reports team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.

14. Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of reports using SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ)

suite of tools.

15. Manage BOBJ administration tasks including user management, security, folder grouping, and

authorization management.

16. Develop and implement REST API integrations to facilitate data exchange and communication between

BOBJ and other systems.

17. Lead the development of HANA ABAP CDS views, ABAP RAP services, and SEGW Fiori Gateway services

for reporting purposes.

18. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into

technical solutions.

19. Design and develop Web Intelligence (WebI) reports and dashboards to meet business needs.

20. Perform Analytics CDS data modeling to create meaningful and actionable insights from raw data.

21. Implement CDS authorization concepts and SAP authorization mechanisms to ensure data security and

compliance.

22. Build and customize WebI report layouts to optimize user experience and accessibility.

23. Collaborate with Technical Arch team on SAP BOBJ upgrade/update activities.
