Marine Technical Purchasing Officer

Working days: Mon-Fri 9am to 6.30pm
Salary: $2800 - $4000

Job Duties:

• Procurement, sourcing and purchase of vessels’ spare parts, supplies and services including preparation of relevant purchase orders and job orders to ensure proper supply for vessels.
• Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order for Superintendents to review and determine the best offer among potential suppliers.
• Verify suppliers’ invoices against quotations and keeping track of vessels’ total expenditure against approved budgets. Verifies item received with items ordered; liaise and resolve with suppliers for mismatch item
• Monitor vessels’ movements, liaising with suppliers, masters and agents to ensure that supplies are delivered on board timely.
• Responsible for accurate record keeping, follow-up and filing of all stores and spares purchased for vessels.
• Actively follow up on vessels’ defect reports, arrangement of third party service vendors and docking issues etc.
• Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendent and shipboard officers.
• Co-ordinate with vessels on various technical matters as instructed by the Superintendents.
• Maintain and update vessels’ technical certificates and arrangement of renewals whenever required.
• Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by Technical Superintendents and or Technical Manager.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma holders with 2-3 years of purchasing experience preferably in Shipping industry
• Familiar with vessel records and certificates is added advantage

Job Description

• Setup production system for customers
• Providing pre-sales assistance, such as site surveys, client meetings, technical presentations, and system demonstrations.
• Verify the accuracy of system configurations and conduct UAT
• Conduct technical training sessions for the sales and customers
• Prepare materials for customer training and deliver professional training sessions.
• Assist project managers and engineers with technical support after sales.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in software support environment.
• A good verbal and written communication skill is a must
• Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software (eg. Zendesk)
• Working knowledge of HTML,CSS,Javascript,php,SQL and cloud computing
• Familiarity with LMS system is a plus.

Qualification

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or relevant quantitative field is preferred

Working Arrangement

• This position is a 50% work-from-home arrangement until further notice. The candidate is required to have a good working laptop/desktop together with a working webcam and microphone for virtual meetings.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act
• Supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control
• Check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies
• Check on quality of works, materials and samples delivered to site
• Ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out
• Ensure all construction works will not impact or affect the operations
• Ensure emergency preparedness protocols are adhered during trial runs or actual emergencies;
• Prepare defect lists, monitor progress of rectification works and ensure all defects are satisfactorily rectified;
• Supervise works to comply with statutory requirements and specifications
• Ensure that the structural elements or critical works of the construction works are being carried out in accordance with the approved plans
• Attend site, progress, variation and coordination meetings

Requirements

• The RTO-C&S shall have minimum Two (2) years of relevant experience as a RTO,
• The RTO-C&S shall possess a Diploma in the Civil /Structural discipline from a Polytechnic or equivalent;
• 2 years of relevant working experience
