The remit of the Executive Director – Asia Pacific is to serve and to grow the institutional membership of CASE in the Asia-Pacific region and to engage with institutional, advancement and CASE volunteer leaders. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Working with the VP for Research, Data and Technology to promote the adoption of the CASE Global Reporting Standards and participation in data collection activities. Also, coordinating to ensure technologies used to support regional operations are aligned across CASE.

· Working with the VP of Volunteer Engagement & Leadership to coordinate Asia-Pacific volunteer governance. Provide guidance and support to the CASE Asia-Pacific Regional Council.

· Working with the VP of Strategic Partnerships to identify and lead on key strategic relationships with peer associations in the Asia-Pacific Region.

· Working with the VP of Education to ensure that CASE Asia-Pacific programmes are a successful part of global CASE programming and consistent with the CASE Career Journey Framework and Competency Model.

· Working with the Chief Financial Officer and VPs in all areas to develop appropriate budgets for the activities in the region, to monitor progress towards goals.

Project Overview

We are seeking one or more Postdoctoral Associates, Research Engineers, or Research Scientists in social sciences or related fields to join a project on “Designing human-AI teams.” The project is part of a five-year research program on "Mens, Manus and Machina—How AI Empowers People, Institutions and Cities in Singapore (M3S)."

Successful applicants for this position will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge, interdisciplinary projects that aim to dramatically rethink how people and AI systems will work together in the future. To do this, the project seeks to build a strong scientific foundation for how AI can augment (as opposed to replace) humans.

One important goal of the project is to develop a rich taxonomy of activities that can be performed by human-AI teams. Like mapping the plants and animals on an unexplored continent, the work will involve cataloging many (a) activities and (b) possible human-computer processes for performing these activities.

To do this, we will develop knowledge bases that include (1) descriptions of many different types of activities and processes, and (2) classifications of these descriptions into taxonomies that range from very general types of activities to very specific ones.

Then, using these knowledge bases, we will develop AI tools to automatically generate promising ways of combining humans and AI systems to perform different tasks. In the long run, we believe these tools will help rapidly (a) identify use cases for new AI capabilities, (b) specify effective processes and task allocations to humans and computers in a given situation, and (c) identify innovative ways to combine people and AI to solve business and societal problems.

The T6 team is led by distinguished scholars, including Profs. Thomas Malone, Daniela Rus, and Abdullah Almaatouq from MIT; and Profs. Marcelo Ang and Bryan Low from the National University of Singapore; and will be assisted by Prof. Archan Misra from Singapore Management University.

• You’re capable of initiating actions to reduce barriers and leverage the advantages of a diverse team and individual styles, ideas and professional or educational backgrounds.
• You work effectively with very limited oversight
• You have functioned in network engineering or support roles over the last 5-10 years
• You possess advanced technical troubleshooting, diagnosing, and problem-solving skills
• You should have competency in WAN/LAN/Firewall/Wireless systems, with emphasis on Cisco and Palo Alto solutions
• You have strong knowledge of network technologies such as BGP, LACP, OSPF, LACP, 802.1q, etc
• You have good verbal/written communications skills, you are able to translate technical information into understandable terms to a variety of audiences.

Bonus points (not required):

• Technical Certifications such as CCNP and/or AWS are not required but are a plus
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools, including Python, Ansible, and PowerShell a plus
