• Monitor and report on inspection program findings and recommend appropriate solutions for corrosion issues as short term and long term, to ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment.
• Investigate equipment failure and recommend cost-effective methods of repair and material selections. Capable of analysing metallurgical failures in materials.
• Develop and update piping and equipment history records for reliability study. and Maintain effective Inspection Data Management system and filing system, including periodic updates.
• Provide quality assurance on project construction and maintenance works to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• To contribute and assist to clear the project punch list and related QA/QC documents.
• Stewardship in preparing Inspection procedures/documents and Total Flange Management work process.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, preferably with at least 5-10 engineering /Maintenance/Project field experience in the chemical, rubber, oil and gas, or petrochemical plants.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English
• Familiarity with major API codes 510, 570, 576, 579, 580/581, 650 and 653. • ASME Sections VIII and IX, ASME B31.3 Especially for pressure vessel, piping and tankage will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as MS Office, SAP etc.
• Knowledge and Qualified Non-Destructive Testing: UT, RT, MT, PT.
• Knowledge of materials selection, Non-Destructive Examination techniques, welding, and risk-based inspection procedures, would be an advantage.
• Independent, adaptable and takes well to challenges.

Job Description

• Supporting the Power Plant to meet the contractual, technical and commercial set-up and operation.
• Prepare the scope of works for electrical services, specifications of spare parts for the maintenance work.
• Maintain and updated all the drawings, data and maintenance record for all electrical equipment and plant utilities in Power Plant.
• Ensure the proper preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance (including emergency situation) carried out for all electrical equipment and plant utilities in the Power Plant.
• Perform technical evaluation on external service engagement and material purchase.
• Assist in preparation of the annually maintenance budgetary cost on electrical equipment and plant utilities.
• Provide necessary guidance and advice to maintenance staff to ensure the quality maintenance is carried out as per good engineering practice.
• Ensures that subordinates are adequately trained and recommends necessary training.
• Ensure PPE are provided, and subordinates are utilizing it by executing works with all safety precautions.
• Ensure all Power Plant jobs executed are in line with statutory requirements of concerned authorities and power plant policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in Power Plant Maintenance ideally on a CCPP
• Involvement in technical aspects of Power Plant maintenance
• Experience in the erection, testing and commissioning, and initial start-up phases of a modern Power Plant
• Knowledge on electrical system including installation, troubleshooting, routine inspection and maintenance
• Knowledge on electromagnetic rotating equipment
• Knowledge on protection relays
• Knowledge on electrical equipment, i.e. GIS, MV/LV switchgear, transformer, generator, Automatic Voltage Regulator, Uninterruptable Power Supply, VFD, DC System-Battery and charger, HVAC, Communication System, etc
• Knowledge on control circuitry of power plant electrical system
• Knowledge in maintaining maintenance record in CMMS
