Job Overview:

The Applications Engineer (AE) represents technical aspects of business development and project definition. AE is responsible for providing full technical support for Business Development/Sales of all Anaergia Projects from the origination phase through contract negotiation and hand over to Anaergia Project Execution Team with all required specifications and budget development. Job Responsibilities:

The AE’s tasks includes:

· Provide technical and commercial support and product advice for existing and future product portfolio within the areas of solid waste treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas utilization, nutrient recovery and wastewater treatment.

· Develop Front End Engineering Documents (FEED) including Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) and general arrangement drawings during bid development and project development as necessary.

Education and Experience

Reporting to Technical & Planning Department Manager, this position will provide technical and process safety support for the manufacturing process to ensure production complies strictly with Company’s quality & safety standards and environmental regulations. This role will also be in charge of performing investigation to identify root causes for plant troubles and implement countermeasures and driving plant optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee plant performance, issue operating instructions, conduct root cause analysis, investigate process failures, and recommend appropriate solutions or corrective actions.
• Coordinate Safety Case activities and liaise with other departments to ensure completion of all follow up actions.
• Lead HAZOP studies and other process safety assessments
• Handle raw materials and utility consumption analysis and efficiency improvement drive, which include managing evaluation meetings and following up on action plans and other operational tasks.
• Plan and conduct trial production for new products or raw materials, and initiate optimization ideas for process and process safety improvements

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer with 7 to 12 years or Bachelor’s Degree in the same discipline with 9 to 14 years of relevant working experience in Chemical Engineering in a polymer plant

Summary

This TS&D specialist will play a key technical role in supporting the growth of the business under Packaging and Specialty Plastics of the Dow Chemical Company in different countries of SEA. The role is to be part of Dow’s cutting-edge technology development and resolve current and future scientific difficulties in material science.

Key responsibilities

1. Provide technical solutions

• Focus on client-side application development and technical support.
• Propose solutions to resolve internal and external technical issues related to the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business.
• Identify gaps of existing products and technology, help develop new products by working closely with R&D experts.

2. Interface with Customers

• Cultivate and maintain customer intimacy by interacting with customers on a regular basis. Work closely with sales counterparts to develop and solidify relationships with customers.
• Responsibilities include: visit customers, provide technical consultation and troubleshooting advice, coordinate test samples and results, documentation, technical presentation and lab results analysis.

Experience qualifications

• Master’s degree or above who graduate in 2024 or 2025, Major in Polymer Science and Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
• Proven track record of customer issue resolving and technical troubleshooting.
• Fundamental understanding in the general area of polymer science and engineering, e.g. polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer processing and rheology, polymer characterization etc.
• Research Experience on plastic film or sheet formulation, process and application in packaging materials will be preferred.
• This role requires good English reading, writing and speaking. Chinese and Bahasa capability is a plus.

THIS IS A 2-YEARS RENEWABLE/ CONVERTIBLE CONTRACT ROLE

Responsibilities:

• To oversee DCS's applications such as ERP, CMS and Intranet sharepoint.
• Provide incident management per ITIL standards.
