Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide teams in the design and development of web applications.

• Manage development and design projects using Java, J2EE, Oracle, JavaScript, Struts, Spring, and WebSphere.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience with JAVA, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, ORACLE SQL, multithreading, JMS, MQ, web services, and web application development.
• Experience working with at least one application server such as WebSphere, JBOSS, or Weblogic.
• Proficiency in at least one web framework.
• Ability to interpret/write specifications and develop code accordingly.
• Knowledge of Java secure coding practices.
• Strong understanding of version control tools like SVN, deployment tools such as Jenkins, and code review tools like SONAR.
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving performance issues in Java & Oracle SQL.
• Understanding and working experience with Unix & LINUX operating systems.
• Strong understanding of the complete software lifecycle.

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience in desktop support, maintenance, and basic infrastructure/network troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of ITIL processes and practices.

• Basic understanding of infrastructure and network concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols.

• Strong technical knowledge of desktop operating systems, applications, and hardware.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Education Requirement

Duties & Responsibilities

The AI Technical Presales Consultant is responsible for scoping and defining AI projects with potential clients before they are executed by our AI engineering team.

The role is a mix of technical and business, and is suited to candidates who enjoy meeting clients, discussing their problem statements, consulting with them on technical solutions, and performing some hands-on data investigation.

The position is essential in helping to assess the value proposition and technical feasibility of potential AI projects, and ensuring the scope is achievable within the time frame. This maximises the chances of success for the client and AI Singapore.

• Together with the business development team, participate in requirements-gathering discussions with companies, applying design thinking to distil their problem statement and pain points.
• Assess whether an AI solution is required. Translate and narrow down the problem statement into specific AI solution requirements.
• Conduct landscape and literature reviews to understand the potential solutions and models in the market.
• Advise clients on data requirements for the AI model in terms of volume, diversity, relevance and quality.
• Evaluate their data readiness level by doing hands-on investigation with sample data, including exploratory data analysis and building a simple baseline model.
• Align with them on an appropriate scope that balances their requirements vs the project timeline.
• Where required for research-focused projects, liaise with a Principal Investigator within the AI research community in Singapore to propose a solution.
• Prepare a proposal document to be submitted to AI Singapore and National Research Foundation senior management for endorsement of the project.
• Brief the designated AI engineering teams on the approved proposals and hand over the requirements to them for delivery.
• Support AI Singapore’s industry and community-building activities by contributing to talks, seminars, article writing, and other outreach programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field is preferred, but not mandatory.
• 2+ years of experience in developing AI/ML solutions in a corporate or research setting. Solutions that have been deployed into production will be viewed favourably.
• Some hands-on skills in Python-based AI/ML frameworks, specifically PyTorch, TensorFlow and scikit-learn.
• Good understanding of machine learning/deep learning fundamentals and common algorithms for computer vision/NLP/tabular data.
• Knowledge of techniques and developments in the area of Generative AI.
• Previous experience in technical presales, product management or project management in a technical/IT role will be an advantage.
• Strong communicator who enjoys interfacing with clients, is comfortable thinking on one’s feet and is able to negotiate skilfully.
• Able to abstract and convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences well, including senior management.
• Strong interest in how technology is applied to solve business problems.
• Self-learner with a strong sense of curiosity and attention to detail.
