SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technician/Senior Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all M&E services and building works. He will be required to be specializing in areas consist of plumbing, masonry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, carpentry or other areas of maintenance work.

• Carry out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all plumbing and sanitary systems of the Hotel to ensure that there is no chokage/ blockage in the plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Operate and carry out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all mechanical equipment such as air conditioning system, freezer, refrigerators, pumps, coolers, ice-makers and other refrigeration equipment.
• To operate and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs of all electrical installations and equipment such as generator, fire protection system (including emergency lighting), internal and external lighting, etc. at the hotel – including preventive maintenance for all 542 guestrooms, cycle based on Department Goals.
• Able to carry out M&E installation and repair work
• Able to trouble-shooting building defect and request
• Construct and repair furniture such as cabinet, cupboard, table, chairs, doors and props.
• To place order for materials, fittings and tools according to specifications needed for carpentry. Coordinate with Engineering administrator.
• Carry out painting, polishing, varnish furniture and ensure that they are well varnished. To maintain constant checking of plant operation.

Job requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Nitec in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services or equivalent.

SUMMARY:

Work within a team of skilled technicians to provide serviceable vehicles to ensure that service delivery standards are met, whilst maintaining vehicles to the service standards required to comply with the Company’s policies and procedures; as well as legislative and LTA contractual obligations.

• Diagnosing any possible faults with the vehicles and determining the best and most effective solutions for repair and maintenance;
• Remain up to date with the changing technologies of the fleet and attend the relevant courses when necessary;
• Proactively contribute to the team performance to ensure that vehicles are maintained to highest standards;
• Respond to Operations Control requests to attend to on-road repairs;
• Undertake first-line maintenance of the CFMS and BTS equipment in accordance with the relevant maintenance schedule;
• Responsible for correctly booking out any parts required to carry out maintenance;
• Ensure that parts are used in a cost effective manner and identify any areas of concern to the Engineering Supervisor;
• Communicate effectively with the Operations Supervisors, Bus Captains and the Engineering Team to deliver a reliable maintenance service;

• Ensure that the correct PPE is worn at all times and that safety equipment is used when working with machinery;
• Train other employees in engineering procedures and processes as to a level of competency, including trainees/apprentices.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, CONDITIONS SPECIFICATION:

• Hold the relevant trades certificates for the functions undertaken within the position. Minimally possess a NITEC in Automotive Technology, Mechatronics or equivalent
• An engineering awareness and familiarity with vehicle component parts;

If not an AGST, he/she ensures that he/she has knowledge of all permits issued on their unit.
  Maintain rigor of work/procedure execution by having pre-execution discussion to surface any concern and remind each other about necessary precautions, and timely signoffs of procedures.
  
• Provide unit orientation and practical hands-on skill training to junior PTs/ PT new to the unit on field execution.
• Provide clear and concise information in shift report and a thorough handover to other shifts is conducted in accordance with ESP requirements for situational awareness, proper follow-up and work planning.
• Raise GSAP notifications for defects/maintenance issues with preliminary assessment of work order prioritization for the GSAP notification done based on SAP Business Warehouse (BWP) matrix.
• Create or review process isolation job packs (including de-oiling and decon) and support the execution of process isolation safely and timely to meet Operation Maintenance Coordinator (OMC)’s plan schedule, prepare and approve PTW, and assist in coordination of daily maintenance planning on their unit.
• For senior PTs, the incumbent is a practicing full AGST and will play an active role in helping to set process isolation, PTW, ESP and equipment care standards on their unit.
• Implement assigned operational controls identified in the HSSE Management Systems, Bowties, Hazard sheets and HRAs.
• Monitor the performance of process equipment in his/her process area and make corrections and normalize deviations from plan or escalate to Production Team Lead (PTL).
• Start up and shut-down any section of the process plant in accordance with laid-down procedures and as directed by PTL.
• Contribute in the preparation of shutdown lists, review of P&I (PEFS) diagram checks and produce sketches for process isolation job packs or plant changes.
• Inspects process equipment after completion of maintenance work, including independent check of internals of all equipment before box-up.

What we need from you

• Nitec/Higher Nitec in Chemical Process Technology or Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Chemical & Green Technology / Clean Energy;
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in chemical processing or oil refining / utilities e.g. steam boilers and Cogeneration for Process Units;
• Good understanding of Ethylene Cracker HoA (Higher Olefins and Aromatic, C4+) or Utility (Boiler, Cogen, Wastewater Treatment etc.) is an advantage.
• Able to operate DCS independently;

What we need from you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:
