• To autonomously conceptualize, design, prepare, and deliver residual Process Engineering deliverables for the assigned project in accordance with specified technical requirements, timelines, and budget constraints. Independently manage and resolve all project-related issues.

Core Responsibilities:

• Grasp and comprehend project-specific specifications, requirements, and relevant Industry Standards, Classification Society, and Regulatory guidelines for the assigned project, including those for Construction, Commissioning, and Offshore activities.
• Develop design philosophies, engineering specifications, PFD, P&ID drawings, data sheets, calculations, and equipment sizing tailored to the assigned project. Validate these elements with the Lead Engineer.
• Independently assess the process aspects of bids from various suppliers, engaging in the technical bid evaluation process. Ensure selected vendors align with technical/engineering requirements outlined in project specifications. Provide assessments to the Package Engineer in consultation with the Lead Engineer.
• Independently compile technical reports (e.g., flare & blow down, flare radiation, process simulation basis, heat and material balance, process control description, utility summary, line list, and set point list), safe charts, and Process C&E for the assigned project.
• Independently devise solutions for technical/engineering and related problems, analyzing issues/data and evaluating options using experience, precedents, and professional references.
• Actively participate in safety meetings, elucidate the process system to the committee, and promptly address observations and recommendations.
• Engage in key stakeholder meetings (Client/Supplier/Sub-contractor/Class), review stakeholders' documents, and address interface/implementation/execution issues. Escalate matters as necessary to ensure the project progresses smoothly and on schedule.
• Provide technical/engineering support and advice for Construction/Commissioning work at the site. Troubleshoot and follow up to rectify gaps or problems. Offer off-site support and advice when required.
• Take responsibility for capturing lessons learned in the functional area, inputting them into MIMS, and closing out project-related MIMS actions.
• Provide guidance to junior Engineers.

Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or Master of Engineering. Alternatively, a Diploma in Engineering with several years of relevant working experience.

Relevant Experience:

• At least 12 years of relevant working experience for diploma holders.
• Minimum of 7 years of pertinent working experience in Process Engineering in the oil and gas sector for Bachelor's degree holders.

Position Summary

We are looking for an assistant fermentation engineer who wants to join us on our journey to create sustainable flavours in F&B applications. The role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our commercial pilot facility. This includes supporting the lead fermentation engineer in their work; operating fermentation equipment in scaled-up processes; executing manufacturing steps in accordance with safety, hygiene, and quality protocols; and ensuring the quality and safety of the product. MODEC is looking for a Piping Stress Engineer, to independently handle the piping stress analysis and support design activities, prepare, manage and produce the critical engineering deliverables for the assigned project (that may include short term assignment to Construction, Commissioning and Offshore) effectively and efficiently according to the specified technical requirements, timelines and within budget, and deal independently with and resolve all the issues of the project.

Responsibilities

- Works independently to perform the assigned task and develops solution to technical/engineering and related problems by analyzing the issue or data, interpreting the analysis and evaluating various options/measures using experience, precedents and professional references with minimal or no supervision or guidance.

- Understands technical requirements of project specifications and standards, local statutory and regulatory requirements, Classification society requirements and applicable codes and standard industry practices to carry out the piping activities and prepare piping deliverables for assigned project.

- Prepares piping stress analysis specification by using the MODEC corporate specifications and modifying suitably to meet the project specific requirements.

- Carries out the piping stress analysis of all critical lines using the project specific data and environment conditions at fabrication yard, during transport and at operating location of facility, to satisfy the project and applicable code requirements.

- Prepares data sheets and details for spring supports taking inputs from stress analysis report.

- Carries out surge analysis for cargo offloading system, sea water lift pump system and fire water system, and reviews the engineering contractor prepared documents and piping arrangement layout drawings.

- Carries out acoustic induced vibration analysis for the system having large sound power levels. In addition, the design guidance should be provided to the engineering contractor on the result of vibration analysis.

- Co-ordinates with engineering contractor to implement flexibility analysis findings in selection of piping support regarding support type, loads on restraints and special support requirements.

- Reviews the isometric of all stress critical lines to verify the support locations, support type are in line with flexibility analysis report and are adequate to withstand the expected loading conditions.

- When assigned to construction site, checks and verifies the piping supports are constructed and installed as per isometrics and support drawing details ensuring support functionality in operating condition and provide resolutions to piping material queries originated from construction site.

- Supports the Lead Piping Engineer and assist in preparing lessons learned during the course of execution of project for further processing through MIMS.

- Independently handles the technical/engineering matters and provide solution to issues without affecting the quality of work and not impacting the project schedule.

Qualifications

- Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience in piping engineering in oil and gas sector, preferably in FPSO or Offshore processing facilities for graduates or minimum 8 years of relevant working experience for diploma holders. For Masters degree holder, minimum of 6 years relevant working experience.

- CAESAR-II, MS office, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
