Job Description

• Check Tariff or/and coordinate with Local pricing/procurement/Overseas offices/agents to obtain relevant rates;
• Preparation of quotations based on the instructions given by the sales and timely submission to sales/ customers;
• Follow up on quotation with Customer (existing Customer) or Sales (new Customer) to get indication or feedback, and working in Ticketing System;
• Provide the pricing/ procurement team with a detailed feedback from customers;
• Prepare Job Instruction Form/ Customer SOP and cost summary, and handover to operations;
• Assist Sales or coordinate with Operation staff to update customers’ reports if required;
• Handle escalation from Operations for differences on actual overseas invoices vs cost summary;
• Handle escalation from Operations on Commercial items covered on the Quotation;
• Use of software solutions such as Ticketing System as well as Tariff / Rate Tools;
• Ad hoc task assigned.

Requirements

• Tertiary education in Business, Supply Chain Management / Logistics or equivalent;
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in freight forwarding business or related fields.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good team player.
• Possess a positive customer-oriented mind set.

The Opportunity

In this role you will assist Senior Sales Executive and cover Sales Support role to maintain a high level of engagement with customers, work closely with Sales Team, Finance Team (receipt of payments) and Warehouse Team. You will also coordinate and oversees end-to-end logistics operations and all shipping-related matter and communicate with overseas agent

• Getting rates / quotes from existing agents to quote customers.
• Negotiate, compare and prepare quotations for potential customers. Cover sales support when needed
• Explore improvement in existing process
• Verification of freight invoices, submission of payment
• Improve and do up SOP for existing operations
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks or projects assigned by immediate supervisor / manager.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experience in Freight Operations
• Well versed with Incoterms
• Knowledge in Batam, Indonesia feeder trade is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cargowise is a plus
• Experienced in shipping quotations and liaising with overseas agent

1. Valid Class 4 License with no major accidents in the past 5 years

2. Able to read & write & converse in simple English

3. Physically fit to run errands & load/unload goods

4. Prior experience and familiar with Driving around Singapore roads
