Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit quotations to overseas freight forwarders based on their requirements.
• Understand the specific needs of overseas freight forwarders and align solutions accordingly.

· To assist in resolving rates’/ contracts’ disputes with carriers, when needed.

· To endeavour to achieve a good yield per TEU for our newly secured/existing business through renegotiation with our liners as an ongoing process.

· To provide monthly ocean volume report .

Requirements

· Diploma/ Tertiary qualifications in supply chain/logistics.

· At least 3 to 5 years of ocean freight forwarding experience, preferably in pricing procurement.

· A team player who is self-motivated and with good interpersonal skills.

· A confident individual with effective verbal and written communication skills.

· A persistent individual with good negotiation skills.

· A resilient individual who can work under pressure.

· Conversant in MS skills, especially in using EXCEL spreadsheet

Operation Executive

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

• Coordination with clients, shippers, truckers, shipping lines/co-loaders, local/overseas agents and overseas offices on shipments.

• Provide support to the Commercial and Operations Team with involvement in full spectrum of shipping process, namely arranging for pickup, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, invoicing, certificate of origin, export permit declaration and/or AMS/IFS filing, if applicable) and customs formalities.

• Monitor, guide and follow up with the client on their shipments, providing efficient and timely response.

• Managing and resolving client(s) complaints.

• Establish and grow relationship with vendors, shippers, customers, carriers and overseas offices.

• Monitor internal operation system and ensure correct data entry.

• Ensure prompt closure of job files in alignment with month-end account closures.

PROFILE & SKILLS

· 1 – 3 years’ experience in air and ocean freight (FCL/LCL) especially handling the whole operation from booking, documentation and billing for import/export.

· Good knowledge of import, export and general logistics industry; and market knowledge.

· Knowledge of iso tanks, flexi tanks industry will be an advantage.

· Proficient in MS Office software, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Good team player with the ability to work with colleagues and people of all levels and from other cultures/nationalities.

· Ability of communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.

· Able to work independently and be able to meet deadlines.

As a Trainee Engineer Intern, you are to provide technical assistance and support at the start execution of new manufacturing project. Engage and participation in risk mitigation studies related to new equipment or process implementation. Coordinate and effectively communicate / arrangement with external vendors and other functional departments within the Tuas site. In this role, a typical day will include:

· Active participation in process requirement, development, studies and test run for new manufacturing equipment related matters

· Work-closely and engage on technical documentation review and preparation for new equipment

· Proactive communication in project progress status, key issues, and other critical topics in a timely manner

· Strong involvement in commissioning, optimization of newly installed equipment via qualification (FAT/SAT) and validation processes

· Duly and accurately execute the assigned task according to the project master plan

· Ensure that quality and safety guidelines are met, adhere to Alcon standards
