Munich Re’s Green Tech Solutions unit has for many years been a pioneer of performance warranty insurance for technologies in the renewable energy field. Its covers in photovoltaic and solar energy have since become market standard. Our team aims to further scale our business and continuously improve our product offerings. GTS is part of the division New Tech / Internet of Things (IoT) and has an international setup with colleagues in Munich, Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York.
We are looking for a Senior Business Developer to drive our sales activities in the area of solar energy.
Your Job:
· Driving role in new business development especially in the Greater China, ASEAN and EU.
· Promoting and selling bespoke solutions to relevant players in the solar energy ecosystem (incl. manufacturers, project developers, investors and banks, etc….)
· Identifying the business needs and insurance interest of customers, development of existing and new cover concepts
· Setup and execution of sales and marketing strategies. This includes but is not limited to market studies, sales strategies, marketing strategies.
· Co-ordination with international customers, partners and colleagues in other Munich Re locations
· Preparation of and conduction of meetings with prospects and client
· Attending market events including presentations and speeches
· Develop marketing opportunities to promote Munich Re Green Technology Insurance products
· Defining and executing strategic business plan aligned with our risk appetite
· Training clients in making use of performance warranty insurance
· Supports the Underwriter Team for the policy renewals and daily communication with the Greater China clients and partners
Your Profile:
· Master degree or above in business administration, finance or insurance business with high affinity to Green Technologies, especially Solar Photovoltaics
· Minimum 15 years of relevant combined solid professional experience related to the solar industry that includes business development, project finance, account management and insurance.
· Strong network in the solar and insurance industries in Greater China, ASEAN and EU (incl. manufacturers, project developers, investors, banks, primary insurers and brokers, etc….)
· Thorough understanding of legal aspects related to insurance contracts for solar market participants.
· Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 70% mostly to Greater China, ASEAN and EU etc.
· Proficiency in Mandarin and English, ability to translate during meetings and conduct negotiations
· Co-operative can-do mindset, self-motivated and communicative with different cultures globally
· Proven ability to smoothly operate in a cross cultural environment.
