DESCRIPTION
The Lead Planner reports to the Project Director and shall be responsible for the effective design effort and coordination of the Sub-Contractor's discipline engineering professionals. The Lead Planner shall ensure that all de-signs comply with the requirements of the Work; that all Work is efficiently and effectively executed in accordance with the criteria, specifications and standards listed in the CONTRACT; and that the designs comply with safe and reasonable standards as accepted within the offshore oil and gas industry. The Lead Planner shall be responsible for his/her scope of work as given below:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop Level 1 Master project schedule identifying project milestones to project completion.
- Review with project management and issue.
- Develop planning controls at Levels I, II, II, IV, V as applicable to include engineering, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning.
- Agree with the Project Manager about the Work Breakdown Structure.
- Develop the engineering schedule considering priorities for vendor packages and early construction in conjunction with the Project Engineering Manager. Ensure that the engineering schedule is compatible with procurement and fabrication requirements.
- Develop the detailed deliverables schedule from the engineering schedule for increased engineering scope and schedule visibility.
- Develop the overall engineering manhour distribution and the discipline manhour distributions over the project duration from the engineering schedule and the approved manhour budget.
- Verify that the manhours spent on discipline activities are booked against the correct activity codes for accurate reporting and project control.
- Monitor and record progress and manhours spent in each area of activity and discuss with the EPM and Discipline Engineering Leads on a regular basis. Prepare regular manhour reports, clearly identifying the spent hours, the earned hours (as a measure of progress), and the forecast manhours for each area of activity.
- Review and approve subcontractor’s and supplier’s schedules, loading and capacity, and report to management.
- Integrate Contractor schedule data into overall Project Master Schedule.
- Develop reports to provide clear visibility to progress, trends, areas of concern and proposed corrections.
- Produce project progress reports.
- Pursue, monitor, and record progress in each area of activity. Acquisition of data to enable comprehensive close out.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum educational requirements of a Bachelors’ and/or Master’s degree in mechanical / chemical / petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
- Direct experience working on FPSO projects.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite, Primavera P6 or higher versions.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience, with Oil & Gas projects (fixed installations and FPSOs), with significant experience working as a Project Manager or Lead Engineer.
- Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector, in a similar role and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.
- Good knowledge of construction trades, work breakdown structure and logical sequence of activities.
