Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for growth and profitability of the assigned country & verticals / sectors ranging from oil & gas, construction, industrial, electronics and other vertical identified.

The BDM is to liaise closely with the respective Country Management, Head of Business Development & Vertical Management to take lead on the development and execution of the Company’s long term strategy with a view to creating shareholder value.

The BDM would be taking lead for the sector within the country/countries assigned, and acts as a direct liaison between the management of the company and local country’s management.

The BDM works along with Country Management and Vertical Management to strategise and work closely with countries for revenue growth and profit improvement. The BDM is to provide leadership, business strategies and general management skills necessary to grow the sector within the country/countries and maintain dominance in its industry. The BDM to develop a world class solution, develop new customers and suppliers, manage relationships with existing customers and principals whilst ensuring that overall revenue and profit goals are achieved beyond the agreed budget.

Key Responsibilities:

● The BDM is responsible for business strategy, as well as to support Company’s long and short term growth plans.

● More specifically, the duties and responsibilities of the BDM include the following:

1. Develop, review and refinement of the business strategy, execution of the strategy to obtain/maintain a leading position in the market place for the

assigned sector/s.

2. Ensure revenue growth is achieved in a responsible and profitable manner

● Growing the clients’ base through introduction of DART and service offering

● Close liaison with clients and ensure participation in all RFQs

● Identify and propose any potential acquisitions to grow the

● business/customer base

3. Vertical Client Management

● Take lead in all business or project implementation

● Manage customers’ expectation through regular review with

customers and country’s representative

● Monthly or quarterly business review with all Key Clients

● Contract negotiation with customers and renewal of contracts

● Review SOPs together with all the relevant countries / departments

and keep it up to date.

4. Visiting on sites/ off sites as needed and communicate accordingly

5. Ensure the efficient utilization of Company’s resources in order to achieve the

overall objectives

6. Motivate a high performance, innovative and results driven team.

● Hiring of right personnel/talent with appropriate approval

● Staff development and performance appraisal

7. Assess the principal risks of the Company and ensure that these risks are

being monitored and managed;

8. Ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in

place;

9. Ensure compliance to the Company work procedures to enable it to conduct

its activities both lawfully and ethically;

10. Keep abreast of market trends, external and internal factors that may affect

the Company and implement processes and systems to ensure that

management of the Company is adequately informed

11. Abide by specific internally established control systems and authorities; lead

by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities ethically in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company’s standards and policies.

12. Handle charter enquiries and maximize profitability of project shipments

13. Continuous Operations & Service Improvements and Excellence


Requirements:

● Recognised Degree or Masters in related field

● 3-5 years of experience

● Experience as a Sales or Account Manager of a medium size company operating in the

international market or an international company in the Technology, Pharmaceutical,

Industrial, Construction, Oil & Gas / Energy & Industrial or related sectors.

● Specific experience in relationship and negotiation management with clients, vendors,

carriers/airlines would be ideal.

● Forward Thinking: ability to plan for the future, ability to identify trends and stay

ahead of the competitive landscape.

● Entrepreneur mind set, and always seek ways to improve profitability and operational

excellence

dynamics; including the ability to take calculated risks and pursue new opportunities.

● Adaptability in execution: possesses a bias towards execution and at the same time

is able to adapt and respond to the changing environment.

● Agility in decision making: being open to evaluate inputs from others and make

decisions based on available information.

● Ability to lead and develop great teams: A people person with high level of EQ

working with and developing a winning team. The ability to attract great people is critical, but being able to cultivate a positive culture with a happy workforce is also key.

● Listening and communicating effectively: Be open to listening, respect others’ opinion whilst and the same time being able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
