Restaurant Floor Staff

Job Summary:

The Restaurant Floor Staff are responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area. This role involves greeting and seating guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and assisting in the overall operation of the restaurant's front of house.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression of the restaurant.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
  • Answer questions about the menu, make recommendations, and offer additional information as needed.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor tables to anticipate guests' needs and respond to any additional requests.
  • Handle complaints or concerns with a professional and courteous manner, escalating to the Floor Manager if necessary.

Order Management:

  • Accurately enter orders into the restaurant’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure orders are delivered to guests correctly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Process guest payments, handle cash, and operate the POS system.

Dining Area Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and floors.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave.
  • Assist with polishing silverware, glassware, and maintaining cleanliness of all service areas.
  • Restock service stations with supplies and ensure readiness for service.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other floor staff, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and excellent service.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Assist with training new floor staff as needed.

Health and Safety:

  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Floor Manager immediately.

Additional Duties:

  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and briefings.
  • Assist with special events, catering, and private dining services as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Floor Manager or Restaurant Manager.
