The Social Media Executive is both a brand guardian and defender. They are primarily responsible for the deliberate planning, strategy and goal setting, brand awareness and online reputation, content and community management of the client’s social media channels.
Beyond this, the Social Media Executive has a diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience relating to social listening, social copywriting, media production (i.e. adapting and resizing graphics, videos, GIFs), performance reporting and paid media management (i.e. targeting for paid campaigns). He or she will also be looked upon to guide junior members of the social unit. It is important that the candidate is heavily active on social media and has a strong understanding of the channels, behaviours and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop relevant content topics to reach client’s target customers
- Manage monthly, ‘always-on’ social media content schedules
- Manage sponsored and paid posts. Develop targeting strategies and executing these with paid social ads
- Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts
- Act as a client-facing resource. Need to take briefs, provide status updates, as well as present publication schedules and periodic performance reports
- Provide monthly reconciliations of client scope and finances
- Conduct social listening and assess community sentiment towards the client’s brand
- Conduct competitor review of client brands on social media and identify new ideas, activities or processes
- Cover local events, promotions, and/or ad campaigns to reflect the brand’s efforts on other media on social media
- Author social media performance reports. Critically assess actions and performance to identify what works, and what doesn’t
- Copywriting and editing of social post copy
- Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the brands
- Champion best practice for social media management, try to integrate these within the wider eg+ teams
- Ensure that the quality of the work produced meets agency standards and, if possible, exceeds client expectations
- Display a keen attention to detail
- Stay current with industry trends and behaviours within social media
- Provide support and collaborate with members of the wider agency teams
- Engage with, and pro-actively share learnings from projects with, members of the eg+ social team in other regions (i.e. Asia, Europe and North America)
- Adopt an entrepreneurial spirit to identify content opportunities to grow the company’s business and portfolio
- Handle the community management, responding to customer enquiries and comments on the clients' social media platforms
Knowledge Required
- At least 1-2 years relevant experience (with a clear focus on social media content creation and video production)
- Strong interest in content marketing and content production
- Experience producing performance reports and analysing results through statistics
- Evidence of success in content creation and client relations
- Results on social media campaigns and long-term strategy
- Experience in community management is a plus.
