Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Project Support Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive engineering support for IP Telephony project. Experience in designing and engineering IP telephony systems/VoIP is essential. Your efforts will ensure the delivery of a reliable, scalable, and efficient communication infrastructure.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications;
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in designing, setting up, and managing IP and network systems, (e.g., Cisco, ALE, Asterisk);
- Hands-on experience with VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and QoS implementation;
- Excellent understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs);
- Possesses exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, consistently resolving complex technical issues efficiently;
- Experience in project support and vendor management is required;
- Must be meticulous with attention to detail, patience, and a positive attitude towards managing multiple stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
Desired Skill-set
- Alcatel certified system engineer;
- CCIE.
Responsibilities
- Provide tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting;
- Able to assess scope of work for the requirements and design scalable solutions;
- Provide assessment of appropriate hardware, software, networking and cabling components for the targeted solutions / systems;
- Set up and configure IP / infrastructure systems including but not limited to PBX systems, VoIP gateways, SBC, IP phones, and related equipment;
- Ensure proper integration with existing network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN/VPN/firewall configurations;
- Implement Quality of Service (QoS) measures to prioritize voice traffic and ensure optimal performance;
- Integrate the IP / infrastructure systems with other communication platforms (e.g., email, contact center applications);
- Perform comprehensive system testing to detect and resolve any issues;
- Perform compatibility testing with various network components and endpoints;
- Liaise with various internal IT & Business Units departments as well as 3rd party vendors, managing the installation, setup and testing process, and providing ongoing troubleshooting support and maintenance;
- Craft and maintain comprehensive documentation, encompassing system configurations, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
