Job Responsibilities
1. Weekly Research
- To collate and report to Marketing Team on a weekly basis
- To monitor competitor's marketing and social media activities - key highlights
- To highlight relevant industry news
2. Research and Strategy
- To provide recommendations on Marketing strategy for different Business Units (BUs)- based on competitor analysis and market landscape (e.g. SWOT analysis) to identify whitespace in formulating suitable recommendations
3. Creation of weekly Social image post and EDM banner using a template: Trendspotter, HKCN, IOTW, US Research
4. Key Visual Design for a marketing campaign or collateral (e.g. CNY Red Packet)
- To work with stakeholders to create a minimum of 3 draft designs per campaign or collateral
- To refine the design process (intern can utilise our design vendor if they do not have design skills)
5. YouTube Series on Economics (meant for a general audience)
- To draft the talking points for a minimum of 2 episodes (10 min per episode)
- To assist with on-site production (e.g. tidying up small props)
- To assist with post-production (by giving comments on the video edit)
Job Requirements
- Social Media Savvy: You should be familiar with the major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and how businesses use them for marketing. This includes understanding different content formats, engagement strategies, and paid advertising options.
- Web Monitoring Tools: Being adept at using social listening tools is a plus. These tools can help you track competitor mentions, analyze sentiment, and identify trends. (optional)
- Data Analysis: Being able to identify patterns, trends, and key metrics (e.g., follower growth, engagement rates).
- Attention to Detail: You need a keen eye for detail to pick up on subtle changes in a competitor's marketing strategy, such as a shift in messaging or a new influencer partnership.
- Market research: Ability to conduct research on a target market, understand customer needs, and identify market trends.
- Competitive analysis: Skills to analyze competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This involves understanding their marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion).
- Marketing strategy development: translate competitor insights and market trends into actionable marketing strategies for the BUs. This includes crafting unique selling propositions (USPs) and audience targeting strategies.
- Data analysis and interpretation: Skills to analyze marketing data (website traffic, social media engagement etc.) and competitor data to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Communication and presentation skills: communicate your findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a way that is easy to understand and act upon.
- Use of PPT or Adobe Illustrator (only basic design skills are required)
- Basic understanding of design concepts (complementary colours, information hierarchy, visual balance etc.)
- Writing skills
- Attention to detail e.g. lighting, arrangement of props
- Understanding of basic economic topics like inflation, comparative advantage, labour force concepts etc.
