JOB SCOPE – Operations The Roles and duties of the operations team are outlined below. It is expected that you work using a pro-active approach to find various solutions and options with parameters set. This is designed to help us assess your mind set and focus during the initial period to establish which areas will suit your skills and experience. During this time regular informal meetings should be held with your Manager and Director. During this initial period we expect to cover
1. Introduction to the Company structure.
2. Familiarisation with the internal Singapore systems and global network.
3. Agents and their role within the Company
4. Introduction to Container Management system
5. Introduction to the Singapore tank planning program
6. Direct liason supplier / agents together with supplier negotiations
7. Global strategy/policy introduction
8. Cost analysis
We would expect after a short period to place you into a specific role within the China operational planning service side of the organisation which would involve the follow remit.
This is not an exhaustive list and maybe changed from time to time, it broadly covers the expected duties of an operations executive / planner - Prepare and review necessary arrival information for suppliers
- Liaise with the relevant depots regarding cleaning and allocation of equipment
- Maintain and service all existing clients and their order requirements through the various online systems
- Maintain and update Companies Global database
- Maintain/liaise with commercial to ensure clients needs are met
- As necessary source and negotiate competitive rates with suppliers
- Appraise and monitors staff performance, when appropriate. Establish an efficient system of communication and enhance the company’s reputation.
- Manage and develop a team of people, where appropriate, developing individuals into future Managers and Leaders.
- Generate and manage reports as required by Management
- Ensure all accruals are in accordance with the agreed tariff costs in the Container Management system.
- Appropriately allocate tank containers to clients bookings.
You will report to an Senior Operations Planner or Manager during your induction period and on completion of your probation period.
