About the Role: We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Event Director to oversee the Commercial, Communications, and Partnerships functions for the Singapore 2025 World Para Swimming Championships. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving the commercial success of the event, enhancing its visibility, and securing and managing key partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for areas including broadcast, media, ticketing, merchandise, promotional activities, brand assets, sponsorship, fundraising, public and youth education, engagement of persons with disabilities & accessibility, and athlete and coach education.
Key Responsibilities:
Sponsorship and Fundraising:
- Develop and execute strategies to secure sponsorships and funding for the event.
- Build and maintain relationships with sponsors and donors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Coordinate fundraising activities and campaigns to support the event’s financial goals.
Promotional Activities:
- Plan and implement promotional campaigns to build excitement and awareness leading up to the event.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to create engaging content and activities that drive public interest.
Public and Youth Education:
- Develop programs and initiatives to educate the public and youth about para sports and inclusivity.
- Collaborate with educational institutions to promote awareness and engagement.
PwD Engagement & Accessibility:
- Ensure that all event activities and facilities are accessible and inclusive for persons with disabilities (PwD).
- Develop and implement initiatives to engage the PwD community and enhance their event experience.
Athlete and Coach Education:
- Coordinate educational programs for athletes and coaches to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with sports organizations to provide resources and support for continuous development.
Broadcast and Media:
- Oversee broadcast operations to ensure high-quality coverage of the event.
- Manage relationships with media partners and coordinate media activities to maximize event exposure.
- Develop and implement media strategies to engage local and international audiences.
Ticketing:
- Develop and execute ticketing strategies to optimize sales and attendance.
- Coordinate with ticketing partners to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Merchandise:
- Oversee the development and sales of event merchandise, ensuring a wide range of quality products.
- Coordinate with merchandise partners to manage inventory and distribution.
Brand Assets:
- Manage the event’s brand assets, ensuring consistent and effective use across all channels.
- Work with creative teams to develop brand materials that reflect the event’s values and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in senior management roles, with a focus on commercial and partnership functions.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events and securing high-value sponsorships.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
