Homebrew is looking for a Hardware Engineer (Server) for our Hardware Division, to provide pre-sales and post-sale support for our server customers.
Responsibilities
- Server Support and Maintenance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair server hardware issues on-site, ensuring prompt resolution to minimise downtime and data loss.
- Hardware Troubleshooting: Analyse and resolve server hardware-related problems, including issues with servers, storage, and network equipment.
- On-Site Support: Provide on-site support to customers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and peripherals.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of server configurations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Collaboration: Work with Hardware Design team, to incorporate upstream product improvements, and customer feedback.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of server hardware, including servers, storage, and network equipment. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Proxmox, Openstack).
- Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and identify root causes.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, colleagues, and internal teams.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment (e.g., servers, storage devices).
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel to customer sites, as required, to provide on-site support.
Nice-to-Have:
- Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, etc.
- Experience: Prior experience in a similar role, providing post-sales support for server hardware or similar technical support experience.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and effective time management skills.
- It is a plus if the candidate is proficient in Mandarin and has experience with Liquid Cooling and Immersion Cooling.
