About the role


The ASPAC Sector Strategy seeks to drive growth, scale and replication within a sector across the region. The strategy supports our market facing ambition to create Luminaries in our sectors that leverage KPMG’s investments and skills. The Sector Executive role is to support the Regional Sector Leader(s) in building the sector program to deliver the strategy by directly leading and supporting key sector program initiatives. This is achieved by building the strong community of sector leaders who contribute to and benefit from the global and regional network, across a portfolio of priority accounts; targeting key clients in AM/PE and leveraging key solutions and alliances to help increase our client contacts, market awareness, pipeline and wins to reach the ambitious revenue targets set.

In addition to a strong client and academic foundation, you will need a client focus to understand our clients’ issues and a solid sense of personal responsibility for both our clients and your personal goals. You must demonstrate outstanding problem-solving abilities and relationship-building skills across the Asia Pacific region.


The role

The key activities, deliverables and accountabilities are listed below. They have been separated broadly into the three sales stages of Origination, Conversion and Retention.

  • Help develop and manage the regional sector plan and go to market strategy focused around priority sector clients
  • Understand the Sector trends and Fields of Play (FoP) for our clients - that can help drive replication of our offers and solutions in the AM/PE sector
  • Support the build of key Client relationships, including owning the development of sector stakeholder mapping and client contact lists for priority accounts
  • Work collaboratively with local Account Executives and Sector Executives to ensure understanding and alignment to the regional strategy and use of best practice business development frameworks
  • Responsible for the internal business planning and reporting requirements associated with running the Sector
  • Undertake capability gap assessments and competitor analysis in order to bring new ideas and service offerings to the practice to improve growth
  • Produce reports and presentations to provide key updates on contacts, follow-up, pipeline, wins and revenue
  • Development of internal and external events, websites, newsletters and other initiatives to increase internal knowledge of KPMG offerings and to improve collaboration
  • Work with Marketing to develop an appropriate marketing strategy for the sector, ensuring effective digital marketing and social media activities are adopted as appropriate and manage the associated budget
  • Create a Regional Marketing / Luminary plan to enable Regional Sector Leaders and National Sector leaders benefit from the investments in Thought Leadership, Events, Client facing engagements.
  • Work with external sector bodies and industry organisations to organise KPMG sponsored events
  • Establish a good working relationship with the Global Sector Executive and where appropriate cascade any trends or key insights
  • Work with functions to ensure we have Go to Market material for the key Buyer Personas in the sector.
  • Work with local sector leads to prioritise key sector accounts at a national level
  • Support the BD teams to help create opportunity pipeline through understanding client imperatives and marketing initiatives
  • Manage and report on pipeline and share sector pipeline across the region
  • Share key wins both at a country, regional and global level
  • Bring key regional / local leaders in areas of interest – leverage global, region / local / thought leadership
  • Help support with frameworks such as KPMG Way and established best practice
  • Ensure we support key regional engagements from the sector – large / multi country engagements, and leverage local Pursuit teams
  • Support Client Lead Partners and Business Development Directors on sector planning, pursuits and client facing activity, by proactively setting up Sector team meetings and follow up meetings.
  • Ensure Sector performance is monitored against agreed plan
  • Establish a review process where we can benchmark monitor the Sector Accounts Performance against financial year targets and fields of play for key sector clients
  • Creation of key credentials for each key account which can be made accessible across the KPMG network

Deliverables and accountabilities

Evidence of specific activities in support of progress on the following key sector measures:

  • Sector Revenue and Pipeline Growth
  • Revenue Growth for Sector Accounts
  • Priority Pursuits Supported and Win Rate
  • Sector client stakeholder contact mapping
  • Sector trends and issues mapped to the Priority Solutions
  • Comprehensive Sector plan that contains relevant and up to date sector issues, FOPs, consistent sector marketing strategy
  • Timely progress updates against key sector KPIs

Skills and experience

The Regional Sector Executive will work closely with the Regional Clients and Markets team and client-facing teams in the firm. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage team meetings, supporting Global sectors and Pursuit strategies
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills and being able to anticipate needs of the account team / client
  • Resilient and a team player, with a strong work ethic
  • Logical thinking and consultative orientation
  • Confident and proactive in the adoption and use of technology.
